Fahrenheit 9/11 Sequel Planned

Fahrenheit 9/11 - never one to shy away from controversy - is back at it again.  The writer/producer/director has chosen to follow up last year’s Sicko with a sequel to his 2004 hit, Fahrenheit 9/11.

While this movie will chronologically pick up where the original left off, it will not be about one specific event.  It will instead have a much broader focus.  According to the chief for Paramount Vantage (one of the two companies Moore is partnering with), the film “is going to tackle what’s going on in the world, and America’s place in it.”

Those already worried about the timing of Oliver Stone’s upcoming Bush project should feel at ease with this new documentary.  Moore is not planning to release the film until sometime next year - long after the presidential election is over.

Box Office Breakdown: Forbidden Kingdom Kicks Past Forgetting Sarah

The Forbidden Kingdom, Jackie Chan

Favorable reviews and Judd Apatow’s association helped nab a second place finish this past weekend.  While some may have expected the adult comedy to debut at #1, the movie was unfortunately inaccessible to large segment of ticket buyers.

Meanwhile, Marshall‘s R-rated raunch allowed fellow new entry to edge right past it.  The action film, which brought martial artists Jackie Chan and Jet Li together for the first time, earned $21.4 million—just enough for the win.

Pam Anderson to Star in Artistic Documentary Series?

Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Reality, Cable, Gossip,

Pamela Anderson E! - the channel who gave us more seasons of the The Simple Life and brought The Girls Next Door to the small screen - will soon unveil the summer series Pamela, starring . This is not a reality series. It is being called a “docu-style series” and will be produced by documentary makers.

The show will be “artistically rich and visually stunning,” according to the executive producer. Well, sure. Why, should I expect something else from E!, the channel which is home to Keeping up with the Kardashians?

Pamela will not feature Anderson’s two children, but promises to give viewers a look into her life. This is where the message and meat might collide a little - last Saturday, Anderson, 40, danced for Hugh Hefner wearing high heels. Only high heels.

Review: Young@Heart

Young@Heart posterSince 1982, the Young@Heart chorus, with members averaging an age of eighty, has wowed audiences with unique and entertaining interpretations of classic punk and rock songs.

Director Stephen Walker follows the geriatric troupe as they prepare for one of their biggest and most challenging undertakings: the Alive and Well tour. The film delves into the personal lives of key chorus members, spotlights group leader Bob Cilman, and attempts to explain the appeal of watching elderly people singing your favorite songs. The appeal doesn’t need much explaining, however—Young@Heart touts some of the most fascinating people you’re likely to find, and, if you have any doubts as to whether you’ll enjoy the film (like I did), by the end you’ll be wondering why you’ve never heard of these idiosyncratic octogenarians.

Man Auctions Life on eBay

Posted by Sheila Franklin Categories: Smart Home, Internet, Videos,

Here’s an example of someone who took the idea of dispensing with your past on eBay to the extreme. Ian Usher will be auctioning his life on the site beginning June 22. His reason for doing so is that he wants to leave everything and begin again. The sale will include his house and all contents, as well as his car, motorcycle, and jet ski. He will even give you a one-time introduction to his friends and a chance to take over his job. That’s taking a break-up very seriously to go to such extremes, but since the man is a filmmaker he should get a fairly decent documentary out of the experience.

American Teen: Teen Drama for Today

American TeenIn the ‘80s, teens watched movies like Pretty in Pink and The Breakfast Club, which showed the angst and agony of growing up with plenty of bubble gum cheer mixed in. Those same ‘80s teens grew up and found out (like Jay and Silent Bob, two View Askew characters) that there is no Shermer, Illinois. Even in the ‘80s, teens just aren’t that tame. Or…are they?

There’s only one way to find out. The American Teen features four Warsaw, Indiana High School students. Which High School do they attend? The only one available in Warsaw, Indiana - and yes, I’m totally serious. The movie follows four stereotyped teens - a homecoming queen, an artistic female student, a jock and a “geeky” loner. Throw in one of those catchy, mellow ‘80s rock tunes and you’ve got a good start on re-making St. Elmo’s Fire. But for this flick, there’s no script. There might not even be a happy ending where the somewhat awkward girl gets the hotter-than-hot guy.
