South Park’s Mystery Deepens with Second Coon Episode

Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Animation, Comedy, Prime Time, Cable, Gossip, Video,

Since the introduction of Mysterion to South Park in Season 13, the fan community has speculated on the “real” identity of the character.

Mysterion appeared in “The Coon,” a Dark Knight parody starring Eric Cartman as the superhero title character. Cartman’s dreams of glory were foiled when another superhero turned up suddenly ... with a cooler costume and a much more secret identity.

And the superhero’s haunting tagline, “Who is Mysterion?” has sparked debate among fans ever since. Wednesday night revealed the second chapter in the ongoing South Park superhero society (aptly named Coon and Friends) … yet, we still don’t have an answer to the burning question.

Liam Neeson Takes Over Mel Gibson’s Hangover 2 Cameo

Liam Neeson has been selected to take over the tattoo artist role in Hangover 2, a cameo originally given to Mel Gibson. When some members of the cast and crew protested to Gibon’s participation in the film, a rep for both actors quickly swapped the one for the other.

The rep joked that Neeson would join the film “pending clearance of cast and crew background check.” Apparently, the Irish actor passed the test because TMZ is reporting that Neeson arrived in L.A. Saturday to begin working on the film.

Emma Stone Pokes Fun at Her Nerd-Friendly Image

Emma Stone, or “that cute redhead the nerds like," offered up a low-key but solid Saturday Night Live performance over the weekend. Stone has been seen in Superbad, Zombieland and Easy A -- as her monologue pointed out -- and will play Spider-Man’s love interest in the upcoming reboot.

Stone, 21, handled the gig like a pro, effortlessly breezing through a monologue that helped her poke fun at her image as a nerd idol. Stone delivered both deadpan and quirky comedy, receiving strong support from the SNL cast throughout the episode.

View the entire monologue, one of the high points of the episode, in the clip above.

Barbara Billingsley, Famous TV Mom, Dies

Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Comedy, ABC, CBS, News, Video,

Barbara Billingsley, one of TV's legends, has died. Billingsley was better known to TV audiences as June Cleaver, the mom on Leave it to Beaver. That classic TV sitcom ran on CBS in 1957, then on ABC until 1963.

“People still talk about it and write letters, telling how much they watch it today with their children and grandchildren,” said Billingsley several years after the show had been canceled. Though it was still very popular in 1963, the show called it quits after the sixth season because the two youngest stars, Jerry Mathers and Tony Dow, wanted to move on. “We knew we were making a good show, because it was so well-written,” Billingsley stated in the same interview.
