WinFast PalmTop DTV200 H: DTV Made Simple
Posted by Sheila Franklin Categories: Home Entertainment, Misc. Tech, Movies, Music, USB,

Leadtek’s WinFast PalmTop DTV200 H has a whole lot of name for its minute size, but we certainly like its looks. The analog/digital PCTV box is plug and play with USB 2.0, and has DVB-T, FM antenna, a 4-in-1 AV cable and remote. The device, which accepts NTSC, SECAM, and PAL standards, works with your PC to deliver video to your VCR, game console, or camcorder. Powered by WinFast PVR2, its functions include DirectBurn, time shifting, scheduled recording, and EPG on a 2-layer menu. Contact Leadtek for price and availability.

The Gais Faltima Series 010 may have an odd name but can do a lot. It plays music and data CDs, MP3s and WMA by USB, MP3 and WMA files by SD card and analog 33, 45 and 78 records. It also features an AM/FM tuner, front controls and number display. But the best part is that while the tunes are playing, the device will record them to another media form. At a price of $499.99, this one is so far only available in Japan, but we it expect will find its way elsewhere by the next holiday season.

In this election year, we find more patriotic gadgets than we will ever actually need. The Musical Statue of Liberty is no exception, but at least this one is non-partisan. Draped in the American flag and made of hand-painted vinyl, the mini-statue not only looks tacky, but press her button and her torch keeps time to the thrilling tune of “New York, New York.” Standing all of 10-inches, she requires 2 AA batteries (not included) and carries a MSRP of $11.98.

We guess that Levi’s last cellie was a big hit because they are doing it again with a Limited Edition Red Tab. The phone also features an MP3 player, stereo Bluetooth capability, and a 2 megapixel camera with flash. Only 100 will be available through Collette online and for your €550 ($870.00) they will include a “premium” box, a cover for the cell phone, a hands free kit, a metal chain, and up to 13 letters of customization. Maybe if Lee jeans puts one out, they will come up with something affordable for the little people.

We are thinking that sometimes people have way too much spare time on their hands. However, the Yellow Drum Machine is a clever bot all the same. It moves around, collects data, then finds an isolated object to keep the beat. After sampling this for a “good sound,” it will play along with it. It will also keep time if you decide to make a noise or clap. The robot was created for about $120.00 in about twenty hours and runs on 4 AA batteries. Full instruction and details are on Frits’ site.
