Bumper Buggie

More fun than a bumper car at a carnival has to be owning your very own Razor Bumper Buggie at home. Unfortunately, they were only designed for children over the age of three. The cars come in 3 models and can hold up to 55 pounds. They move around at 2 mph for 40 minutes on an 8 hour charge.  Made of plastic and featuring dual joystick pads and motors, you can find them online for $89.00. After purchase, hide the breakables, bring in the pets, and think about investing in fencing around your rose bushes.

Star Wars M&MsDoes George Lucas offer his Star Wars licensing to everybody who asks? While we were creating our Andru M&M, we discovered these Collectible, Limited Edition M&M Star Wars Figurines. Our guess is that the public was not running rampant to snatch these 6-inch figurines up, for what used to carry a price of $45.00 apiece has now become $22.50. If you are a big enough Jedi freak and want to add them to your collection, you can find them on M&M’s site.

Solar MushroomCapsule Keychains

ThinkGeek has a tendency to attract Super Mario gadgets like this Solar Mushroom. Unlike real ‘shrooms, place this one in the sun and it will sway back and forth. At a height of 5-inches and licensed by Nintendo, it will only set you back $22.99. Okay, so its not a practical device, but it will let everyone in the office know that you still dig the Super Mario genre.
If the Mushroom is a bit too flamboyant, you can get a Limited Edition Key Ring for only $3.99. These squishable Super Mario characters are the same as those sold in Japanese vending machines but, because they come in capsules, even ThinkGeek won’t know which one you will receive.

Flying Alarm ClockThis has to be a better alternative to a cold shower in the a.m. We managed to find another retro gadget, but this one actually does more than pop. Set the Flying Alarm Clock just like any other, but be prepared really awaken tomorrow morning. When the alarm chimes, the propeller takes flight. The noise continues until you find the wretched toy, which could be anywhere in your bedroom, and return it to its launch pad. The Flying Alarm Clock is available from our buds at stupid for only $21.99.

(Thanks, Bob)

Bug Out BobBug Out Bob was one of the first stress reducers created in the 50s. He has also been referred to as Obie, the Popping Martian, and the Martian Popper. No flashing or clever electronics here, but you just gotta love the retro gadget. You squeeze and he pops, at least his eyes, nose, and mouth do. Bob is only 4 1/2-inches tall, weighs only .12 lb., and has a MSRP of only $6.49 at Klear Geek. For that price, you can get several and have mass freak-outs with your co-workers.

WassupJoining the ranks of Furby, Romi, and the like is Wassup. The oval-shaped interactive speaker/rabbit is being offered by b2. What does the company think about its joining an already over-saturated market?

“Since ‘everything ’ is such a hot trend, this product is a great addition to the successful miJam line,” said Jeff Lewis, VP of Marketing at b2.

Available in colors of black, red, silver, and blue, the Wassup is destined to hit retailers in July with a MSRP of $24.99.

Rocky Gloves“Whatchu doin?” Here’s your chance to be a champ. These oversized Rocky boxing gloves look like any others, but each one contains a sound chip that is activated when you connect with your opponent. In a one size fits all, thump someone and you will hear the theme from “Rocky,” voice clips, and punching sounds, just in case you can’t really box all that well. They are available at Gobaz for £22.99 (~$46.46.)

Addicted to Sudoku? Somewhere between a circular version of the puzzle game and a Rubik’s cube, Dutch inventor Hans van Brieman studied “the beautiful isomorphism of magic squares and geometric shapes” and together with Marcel Lennartz of Lensoft, has created a three-dimensional Sudoko-Ball. The beta is now available online if your computer supports Java. The company is hoping to market a 4 or 6-inch PVC model by 3Q 2007. We thought the SudoKube was difficult enough until we realized that this one goes way beyond our simple minds.

Zwinkies

It’s getting to the point that you cannot go into a site without at least one Zwinky banner. Although I thought i was the only one annoyed by it, last weekend I saw what appeared to be a parody of the grotesque virtual paper dolls on “Saturday Night Live.” It turns out that it was an actual commercial displaying the website and claiming millions of users. Created by the company that also features equally obnoxious “Smileys,” this begs the question: Are they trying to appeal to an older audience or are children really staying up that late to watch SNL?

Shrek GameChia Shrek

Two weeks after the opening of Spiderman 3 will be its competitor Shrek 3, premiering May 18. Coming out the same day is the Activision Game of the same name. Although the game can be played with Shrek, Donkey, or Puss, you really have to be a fanatic of the ogre to want to scratch your backside the way he does when paused. Constantly amazed at the array of toys and gadgets franchised in conjunction with movies/game releases, we managed to find one that Spidey had not found first. Chia Shrek or Donkey, anyone?
