your idea of “Life is Good”, then we have something for you. It’s Belkin’s CushTop, an ergonomically-angled, hard-ish pillow for your notebook that rests on your lap. The CushTop is covered with “furniture-like upholstery” and has a pocket in the middle to store small laptop accessories, and measures 14.5” wide by 12” deep, with a slope from 3” to 4”. The best part? It’s a fantastic way to keep your laptop from melting through your flesh. It’s available now for $35 USD. In their positive review of the CushTop, the folks at Cnet.com found it too small for 17” laptops, but perfectly sized for smaller machines.

Xbox Monitor To-Go Slated for Summer

By this July, your XBox 360 can become decently portable with Hori’s 12-inch, 720p, LCD Screen. The TFT monitor gets its signals from the game system via analogue RGB and sound is nicely handled by stereo speakers. Designed with the same dimensions as those of the XBox, it carries an MSRP of about $300.00, but only in Japan. It may take awhile for it to come to the rest of us, so until that time, we can do a few extra bench presses to be able the carry the thing.

We love our flash drive to death, and are still figuring out how we lived without it for so long. The only problem is that it’s so small we keep misplacing it! If you’re in the same boat, here’s an interesting solution: a 512MB USB flash drive—that snaps onto your wrist! Talk about portability. In addition, this wristband has a password function, data can be written and erased over 1 million times(!) and you can store information on it for over 10 years. The downside? Think back, oh, 4-5 months ago, when all we heard about were Wii-motes flying out of gamers’ hands, destroying TV’s, lamps, loved ones, etc. Nintendo relished the free publicity
responded by issuing stronger wrist straps for the remote, and in a press release, literally asked players to calm down. Well, whether you never received the new wrist strap, have kids or even grandparents playing the Wii, we direct you to the Retractable Wii Sports Cuff, which you wear on your wrist, while the other end attaches to the Wii-mote, retractable up to 13”. The cuff is made of comfortable neoprene and is adjustable. Not bad for only $6 USD, and we suspect you can use it to secure other valuable gadgets—like iPods and digital cameras—to your wrist. We especially love that the website seriously states “Wii not included” with the $6 strap. Shucks!

Spring is here, summer is coming, which means we’ll be spending way more time away from our computers
outdoors. What better way to enjoy picnics, strolls through the park, or a day at the beach than with your favorite MP3s? Instead of lugging portable speakers, consider Dreamgear’s i.Sound Audio Vault, an ingenious iPod case that doubles as a speaker. If used to house a 5G iPod, the other side of the case allows you to watch videos and access the controls—all without opening the case. The i.Sound is made of strong nylon material, has bass boost and even an alarm function. Requires 4 AA batteries. Dreamgear states the Audio Vault is compatible with all iPods, but frankly, we think it’s way too big for an iPod Shuffle or Nano. The Audio Vault is unavailable for purchase on Dreamgear’s website, however you can grab it for $27 USD at Target.

Gallery: Xbox 360 QWERTY Keyboard Attachment

So, yesterday we told you about the newly announced Xbox 360 QWERTY Keyboard Attachment, which it seems many wrote off as being a well-done Photoshop job. However, Microsoft has confirmed that the product is real, and that it will be making it’s way to store shelves this summer at a still-unannounced price point. Contrary to what some believe, the keyboard is an attachment to the current Xbox 360 controller, not a stand-alone keyboard/controller combo. The keyboard will also be backlit, which fits right into the reality that many a gamer enjoy playing in the dark. We were able to see this product at a couple of different stages in it’s development, and think it will be a hit, so long as the backlit display doesn’t suck up battery usage too much.

Xbox 360 QWERTY Keyboard Controller Attachment

Wow, seems like we have been sitting on this one for months. After seeing a few prototypes, we are glad to see that what looks to be the finalized Xbox 360 QWERTY keyboard controller attachment looks a lot more sensible than what we saw. Now obviously, this makes perfect sense for a while lot of reasons. First and foremost, as seen in the leaked Xbox 360 Spring 2007 Dashboard Update video (if it is to be believed,) Microsoft is planning on integrating Windows Live Messenger contacts directly into your Xbox 360 dashboard. A QWERTY keyboard would be the saving grace of that feature, as the current methodolgy of typing on the Xbox 360 is mundane at best. Of course, it will also come in handy for games where typing to your teammates is an added feature as well. Look for this one to drop this summer, pricing still unknown.
