What do you get when you cross a Roomba with Pac-man? In Ron Tajima’s case, you get a Pacmba (don’t ask us how to pronounce it.) He took his droid vacuum, tacked on a board with 448 LEDs, and added a Bluetooth remote with circuit driver. Of course, he had to have something for the little guy to chomp on. This is Ron’s second foray into hacking his Roomba. We cannot wait to see what he will come up with next.

Sony Rolly Makes it Stateside

Sony has finally brought Rolly to the States. As you recall, the egg-shaped musical device grooves to the music, includes 2GB of flash memory, has Bluetooth and USB capability, and MP3 and ATRAC music support. Rolly comes preloaded with the theme from “2001 – A Space Odyssey”, Avril Lavigne’s “Girlfriend” and Earth, Wind, & Fire’s “Boogie Wonderland.” Available in black or white, that better be a some incredible choreography for the $399.99 price tag.

The black slate or purple flip phone has a 1.3 megapixel cam, a memory card slot, Bluetooth capability, VZ Navigator GPS, text and multimedia ability, and a music player with external controls. It supports Verizon’s 3G EV-Do network and, as per usual, there is an online deal attached. The $119.99 price with a 2-year contract and a $50.00 instant discount knocks that sucker down to a feasible $69.99.

Logitech has unveiled its V450 cordless laser mouse for notebooks. It features their Plug-and-Forget Nano-receiver that goes into your USB for charging and can be stored inside the mouse. It has a laser sensor for smooth tracking, 2.4 GHz wireless tech, auto-turn off, and 12 months of battery life. The ergonomic mouse includes sculpted keys and soft rubber grips, and will be available later this month in the U.S. and in July in Europe for $49.99.

Panasonic pushes GPS to the limit with its new Strada F-Class CN-HX1000D and CN-HW1000D. The gadget has a 7-inch Viera screen for DVDs, an iPod link, a hard drive, 1-seg mobile digital TV, and what Panasonic calls a “from home to car” idea. If you have Bluetooth on your cellie, you can order sat-nav and the Strada will let you know what’s going on at home from the screen in your car. You can also turn on or off appliances. This one doesn’t come cheaply. The Stradas will go on sale in Japan next month with a ¥355,000 (~$3,500) price tag.

Shadow Caddy for Golfers

It may be time for overworked caddies to find another line of work. The Shadow Caddy is a three-wheeled electronic device that carries golfers’ clubs without a remote. It works by a tracking system and simply follows you and your transmitter around. So far the caddy is only available for rent at Australian golf courses, but we are certain they would love to hear from anyone who wants one enough to import it to his/her countries. LG’s latest touchscreen phone, Bikini, features an InteractPad that replaces navigation keys with context-specific virtual keys. The Korean company claims that the keys, being larger and spaced out more, are more flexible than standard ones. The Bikini comes in black or red wine, has a 3mp cam with video, MP3 player, FM radio, and Bluetooth capability. Available in two models, the suggested price should fall between 500,000 (~$482.00) and 600,000 KRW (~$578.00.)
