Asus has released their R710 PND with Pathfinder HUD (Heads-Up Display) technology that allows users to project directions, speed, etc. on car windshields. The GPS system has a 5-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth capability and built-in light sensor. The R710 will also play MP3s, videos and display pictures for those times when you are stuck in traffic. Its MicroSD card slot can handle up to 8GB. At a thickness of only 13.5mm and a weight of only 200g, contact Asus for price and availability.

Onkyo MHP-UW2 Acoustic Earbuds

Onkyo has released a new set of MHP-UW2 wireless headphones. The acoustic earbuds operate on a 2.4GHz frequency. Plug the 46 x 90 x 17mm transmitter into your iPod and you are good to go. With lithium-ion batteries, expect about 8 hours of use before needing a recharge. The headphones come with a USB cable and AC adapter. Look for a November release for ¥20,000 (~$20.00.)

Imation’s Apollo Pro WX appears to be the first wireless USB hard drive. It will provide auto-backups when it is within range of your PC. The WUSB will range in capability from 250GB to 1.5TB. Note that it may turn out that users will have to put up with a slower speed with the initial drives. Check with Imation for price and other USB drives.

The Pixon will be available in the next few weeks and its price will be determined by your contract with the carrier.

At a size of 4.37 x 2.04 x 0.61-inches and a weight of 3.84 oz., the S60 5th Edition touchscreen phone has a 3.2-inch 640 x 360p screen with stylus input, an aspect ratio of 16:9, a 3D image engine and dedicated Media Bar touch key. To text, there is an option with writing, mini QWERTY keyboard, full screen QWERTY and alpha-numeric keypad. Rumor has it that Nintendo has plans for a new DS that will come out in time for the holidays. The DS2 will take pictures and play tunes.
