The Killers Can’t Match Coldplay
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Gossip, Rock,

The Killers think that Coldplay will always be more popular than them. Frontman Brandon Flowers admits the British band is leagues ahead of his own in terms of becoming the next U2 and has resigned himself to the fact that he will never achieve the same level of popularity.
"We're a few steps behind Coldplay. There's no catching them now. I never felt we were chasing them and I'm not deflated, but they've just taken that," Killers frontman Brandon Flowers said. The 31-year-old singer is highly critical of the current rock scene, however, and said that in the eighteen months the "Mr. Brightside" hitmakers went on hiatus, the state of guitar bands got even worse and they all need to "get over" themselves and write songs that can compete with his own.

Brandon Flowers Changed with Fame
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Concerts / Tours, Gossip, Alternative, Rock,
Brandon Flowers admits that fame changed him. The Killers frontman says he began wearing eccentric stage outfits and acting cocky in the band's early days in order to feel more confident because he couldn't cope with the change around him.
"I grew up in Utah, and all of a sudden we're getting popular in London - the coolest city in the world - and we were like, 'This is not what we're cut from.' So I puffed up my chest and spread the feathers - that was my reaction to that. I do have a belief in myself and in the band, but it wasn't like that," he said.
The "Mr. Brightside" singer says that the days of his infamous pink leather jacket and feathered epaulettes are behind him with the band's fourth studio album Battle Born, but he doesn't regret any of his statement looks: "Getting more comfortable in my own skin and feeling more confident is somehow tasking the place of feathers and pink leather. I wouldn't take back the feathers. I felt empowered when I put that jacket on, it was a ceremony, I loved it. But I can't wear them forever. I gave them to the London Hard Rock."

The Darkness Used Cocaine on Stage

The Darkness used to have three lines of cocaine ready for each of them before going onstage.
The "Growing on Me" rockers imploded in 2006 due to their drug use and partying, and looking back now they understand how out of control their tours had become. Talking about their cocaine use on their final tour, guitarist Dan Hawkins said, "I'm not going to lie to you, it was the most debauched fun I've ever had. [We had a] Pre-Show Line, Mid-Show Line and After Show-Line. That would be in various holding places, sometimes in a tent behind the stage; usually the same area where costume changes happened. Then we'd just get hammered until four or five in the morning and drag ourselves to the next venue with raging hangovers."

Dave Grohl: Don’t Plan to Be a Rock Star
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Gossip, Alternative, Rock,
Dave Grohl says nobody should plan to become a rock star. The Foo Fighters frontman says he is "really lucky" to have made a career out of music, but advises young people that they should never set out with a specific career goal of becoming a rock star.
"Just play music and have fun. I got really lucky. I'm a high school dropout. The kind of music that we were playing back then was like punk rock and nobody dreamed of this kind of s**t happening. No career opportunity. But that shouldn't be your motivation to play music. Music should be its own reward."
Dave has also recently collaborated with his former Nirvana bandmate Krist Novoselic on music for the soundtrack to new documentary Sound City about the studio where they recorded the iconic Nevermind album. Although they remain tight lipped, Krist has recently confirmed the collaboration, saying, "You know what was cool, I did some work with Dave, you've got to ask Dave what we did though because he told me not to tell anybody."
