Love Wants McAvoy, Not Pattinson, for Cobain Role

Courtney Love wants James McAvoy - not Robert Pattinson - to play Kurt Cobain in the biopic of his musician’s life.
Cobain’s widow thinks the Scottish actor would be “great” for the role. If not McAvoy, then Ryan Gosling.
“Isn’t that so stupid, who would cast him? That’s just wrong, no offense,” Courtney said about the Pattinson rumors. “I watched the Twilight stuff very, very recently and I get it, it resonates with the teenage girl in me, I understand epic love of that nature; I write about it all the time. But isn’t that silly?”
The “Celebrity Skin” hitmaker told the Canadian Press she wants casting approval and a say on the script and hopes her producer pal Trudie Styler, Sting’s wife, will act as her “proxy” in making sure the movie is done “right.”
The rocker - who thinks it would be too painful to ever watch the film - claims she will scrap the project altogether if Moon producer Trudie declines to be involved.

Tobey Maguire Signs on for Bobby Fischer Flick

Reports confirm that Tobey Maguire will star as Bobby Fischer in Pawn Sacrifice, a new biopic about the chess legend’s life. The story will primarily focus on Fischer’s famous match against Russian chess champion Boris Spassky. The two played for the World Championship in 1972 during the Cold War.
In the 1970s, Bobby Fischer was the most dominant chess player in the world. He was only 14 when he won his first United States Championship, and still holds a record for achieving the only perfect score in tournament history (63-64 season). Fischer disappeared from the public eye in 1975 and did not re-surface until 1992, when he emerged to play a match against his rival Boris Spassky.
David Fincher has signed on to direct the film.

Dolly Parton’s Story Coming to Life
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Biopics, Celeb News, Upcoming Releases,
Dolly Parton has revealed that plans are in motion for a biopic about her life.
“I’m working on my life story,” the 64-year-old told British talk show host Alan Titchmarsh. “I’m not decided if it’s going to be a musical or a movie with music in it. I’ve not thought about who will play me - but we need someone little. And if they don’t have enough up top we’ll have to give them a big old boob job.”
Parton is no stranger to the big screen and has starred in several films, including Nine to Five, Steel Magnolias and The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas. She also served as a writer on TV stories Wild Texas Wind and A Smoky Mountain Christmas.
Recently Dolly admitted her look was unique, but insists people shouldn’t copy her pneumatic blonde style.
The country singer - who has had a number of cosmetic surgery procedures, including having her breasts enlarged to a 40DD cup - said: “It comes from a sincere place. And I ain’t telling people to look like me. I don’t say, ‘Oh you need to have big boobs and overdo your make-up and have nine inch nails. A lot of men think I’m just too artificial, but there are some good ol’ boys out there who don’t.”
Morgan Freeman Hasn’t Received Mandela’s Approval
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Warner Bros, Biopics, Drama, Political,
Nelson Mandela has seen Invictus - but no one knows if he was happy with how he is depicted in the film.
Morgan Freeman, who was just nominated for his portrayal of the former South African president, admits he was left frustrated as the freedom fighter refused to give his opinion after being treated to a special big-screen showing.
“Yes, I know that he has seen it. You know, he won’t say what he thinks of it. So you have to kind of gather from his reactions,” Morgan said over the weekend at the film’s London premiere. “I was sitting next to him and when I first came on the screen he said, ‘I know this fellow.’”
However, the 72-year-old star did confirm that South Africans accepted him playing the legendary historic figure, and even called him by the honorary title bestowed upon elders of Mandela’s clan - Madiba.
“You know, South Africans starting calling me Madiba. I was totally accepted. I remember getting out of a car one time and I was walking into a stadium and someone shouted, ‘You walk like him, you walk like him!’, people were giving me lifts,” Freeman recalled.
