The Hangover, Part II

Despite harsh cricital reviews, The Hangover, Part II is making truckloads of money. And what does Warner Bros. like more than truckloads of money? MORE truckloads of money. This is our way of saying they’re already planning the make a third Hangover flick.

The sequel to the unexpected hit has earned $200 million (in just five days, no less), and writer Craig Mazin is planning a third script.

Of course, the film’s three big stars (Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms and Zach Galifianakis) aren’t contracted to a third film, so everyone will have to get a big pay increase… assuming they all agree to participate. Warner Bros. will certainly fork over the high-dollar amounts to make it happen.

Director Todd Phillips says a third movie will be totally unlike the first two. “I think we have a clear idea where [the sequel] would head and it’s certainly not in the same template you’ve seen in these movies,” he said in a recent press conference.

He added that the third flick would be “very much a finale and an ending.” But… what about Hangover 4?
