Anyone know where to find the cheapest XP Pro Upgrade at?...I have XP home now, and I’d like to upgrade to Pro, but I don’t want to spend too much. I found the acedemic version for around $80, just wondering if anyone knew of any cheaper one’s…I’m a student also btw :] Only new unused serial’s too please…thanks :D

If i were you, i would go on ebay and get one of those retail ones.  Not the boxed ones but the retail cd.  More expensive then the upgrades but hey, i got one for $120.  It was a retail one and not one of those cheap upgrades 😛 .

what kind of student are you? high school? college? If you are in college, I’d check your campus bookstore and see if they have academic discounts. I know at my school, we get xp for about 10 bucks.

If you’re in high school, go to your closest university and find a kid that’ll just go in and buy it for you, haha.

Careful with that, at my school our XP disks are 5 bucks, but you are limited to one disk per student for the whole 4 years you are there.

why do you need Pro? Home edition is the same crap. Not much of a difference. Although the Pro does have the ability to allow other machine to connect to it and control it remotely which was a nice feature i liked.

Unless ur using ASP, ASP.net then use Apache. Also you can use Microsoft Cassini:

Or you u can install IIS on Windows XP Home,  yes it can be done:
