:P I think being attracted to the same sex makes a guy gay, Hector. As far as painting his nails, well, I don’t think that makes him gay. I’ve known metrosexuals to do all sorts of things—everything from perming their hair to painting their nails to wearing light make-up :o It’s crazy—I’m gay, and I don’t even wear make up, LOL

I was just looking at my nails just now and thinking they could use some better maintenance.  And I thought: “Well, who really looks at men’s nails anyway?”  And then I said: “Crap, maybe they do make an impression.”  But then I said: “Oh, that’s just gay.”

LOL You’re right, I guess. I personally don’t look at nails, but one chick back in high school looked at my nails and thought they were pretty. All I ever do to my nails is cut them. I don’t paint them, file them, dig underneath to clean them, etc. I guess someone somewhere still looks at them.. :? Better to be safe than sorry, I guess :P

I sometimes paint my nails with the clear coating nail hardener stuff.  I have really thin finger nails, and it help keeps my nails from breaking when I play my guitar.  It’s not uncommon for a guitarist to use clear nail hardener.  The only bad thing is that it makes your nails really shiny.  People stare and wonder.

I think Andruex makes a solid point, as a straight guy I would have been more blunt and said its gay to (insert sexual act on another man here), everything else is just personal fashion choices. If you want to wear a dress and call yourself Pollyanna, you’re not gay, you’re a transvestite, which contrary to popular belief is not gay, TV’s still like women.

I guess it boils down to this, gay is a sexual preference, what you put on your nails is a personal preference and any person who can’t tell the difference between the two has their own issues.

I think it’s gay.  My first impression of a gay coloring is nails are that this dude must be very feminie to do that kinda stuff.  Spend more time on buffing up them muscles or something than polishing the nails.

Yes, attraction to the same sex does make somebody gay, but those people also tend to do various things differently besides sexually - such as painting their nails.

goths do it. i guess its ok in their weird way. but if its some regular guy busting out passion plum on their nails, ya, gay.

the farthest i go is just keeping them trimmed and clean. girls do pay attn to that sorta thing, and plus, its just nasty to have long nails with dirt and who knows what else under there.

Wow…. so no one thinks it’s okay?  Is it still gay if I use hardener for function not fashion?  I play the guitar, I have really thin nails, and I hate picks.

I had a teacher who painted his nails. He was a computer science teacher, painted his nails and had earings. He was married too. I guess his wife liked it.
