memorex 4x dvd+r is really good, can be expensive at times though. also TDK medias really good if you find it on sale. Compusa or bestbuy usually has dvd-/+R media on sale.
I get all my media from http://www.supermediastore.com , i have a 4x dvd-/+ burner, so i get the prodisc 4x dvd-rs. Never had a bad burn with them either. Really good media.
That site also sells taiyo yuden media which is REAL good but can be expensive. The ritek media is good also.
But doesn’t DVD+R suggest that you can only write once to the disc? It’s no big deal if that’s the case, but I was wondering if you could rewrite to a DVD+R disc based on the type of drive I have.
DVD-RW and DVD+RW are rewritable DVD’s that you can write and erase whenever you want.
DVD-R and DVD+R can only be recorded once and that’s it. You can’t erase it and use it again.
I also buy my dvd’s through http://www.supermediastore.com like others have mentioned here. I get the Princo DVD’s, haven’t had any problems with them at all. I also have a spare 25 pack of Memorex DVD’s that have worked great! And I buy DVD-R because that’s more common and is more compatible with dvd-roms and dvd players.
Yep. If your dvd player specs says it can read DVD+RW, then you should have no problems reading it after you burn it. But if it doesn’t, then chances are that your player won’t be able to read DVD+RW discs.
heck I use office depot :o no problem with them at all. however, i have a dual-layer burner, and sometimes some dual-layer supporting discs might come in handy
I bought 2 100 packs of blank DVDs from CompUSA for $20 each. DVD-R/DVD-RW is the better format. You can only use +‘s though, because that is the type of burner you bought.
i get whatever is on sale.. i usually go to microcenter and pick out whatever’s the cheapest and i’ve never had real problems.. last thing i got was dvd+r 8x 2 25 disc spools for about 20 bucks. I’d go for a better brand.. but when you’re deciding between 50 discs for 50 bucks or 50 discs for 20.. yeah.
I use taiyo yudens. I can burn at 16x speed on a 8x DVD. I can also burn at 8x on a 4x disc. Saves me alot of money because i can just buy slow discs and burn at overspeed.
Just get the cheapest media you can find. There are only 4 media manufacturers, and all branded media comes from one of these four, so you really are getting the same thing with just different branding.
Odd to see a single format burner nowadays though.
Right now Best Buy is having a 50 pack sale of Fuji DVD-R and DVD+R for $19.99 and CompUSA also has a sale of Memorex 50 pack DVD-R and DVD+R. Picked up Fuji from best buy since they are here in town. Works like a charm.

I used to think the same thing until i came across bad media, i bought a 100pk of Optodisc media, very cheap at the time, but its awful media. the majority of the discs were warped, and wouldnt burn at all.

I had that same problem with some Sonic branded DVD-R’s.
