Posted by Alvin Lai Categories: Atlantic Division, New York Knicks, Disses, H2H, Props, Rookies, Roto, Site Features, Talent,
Every so often on Dime Day, “Four Quarters” will feature one particular NBA team, going ten players deep into their roster. Whether it’s a small tidbit of news on the bench-warmers, or an opportunity to give major props to the all-stars around the league, as always we slant it towards the fantasy side of life.
Thanks to Dennis Velasco for the assist this week. He gave me some local tidbits of information on his beloved Knicks. So let’s dig into the Knicks roster and see what’s happening

Stat’s All, Folks: Just Like Mickey D’s, I’m Loving Chris Bosh
Posted by Dennis Velasco Categories: Disses, H2H, Injuries, Props, Rookies, Roto, Rumors, Site Features, Talent, Trades, Waiver Pick Ups,
Stat’s All Folks will be a week-to-week stock market look at the standard cumulative categories – points, assists, rebounds, three-pointers made, steals, and blocks. I’ll be calling out the “bulls” and “bears” in each category, in order to help you assess your portfolio of players on your fantasy basketball team(s) and whether you should sell, hold, and/or diversify your assets.
Note that you won’t always see the superstar player written about in this column, otherwise it would be LeBron James or Steve Nash every week. So, check out who’s bullish and who’s bearish coming into the week.
Statistics are from February 1 - February 8
POINTS
BULLISH
Chris Bosh, PF/C, Toronto Raptors
Last Week’s Numbers of Note: 3 G; 30.7 PPG; 51.8 FG%; 87.2 FT%
Next weekend Bosh will be going to the All-Star game for the first time in his career as a starter (Thanks, Mark!). And looking at the trends for this season and his career, it won’t be the only time. In the past week, CB4 has flexed his scoring muscle like he owned Hulk Hogan’s 24-inch pythons! Check the scoring average trend for each month: November – 20.5 in 15 games; December – 20.5 in four games; January – 25.4 in 15 games; and 30.7 in three games thus far this month. In his last game, Bosh scored a career-high 41 points in a Young Beasts Down In The Box matchup against the Orlando Magic’s Dwight Howard. CB4 even showed some clutch game by scoring 31 of those 41 points in the second half to lead the Raptors to victory. And if you have Bosh on your fantasy team, he’ll do the same for you. Brother!!!

I was just checking out some web stuff before the Super Bowl and found this picture. Thanks to MJD over at Deadspin, I now know that I’m not the only one that hates Eric Snow…
Enjoy the game, all.
Oh…and the Cavs lost on National Television…again.
Dropping Dimes Staff Position Rankings - Week 15
Posted by Dennis Velasco Categories: H2H, Props, Roto, Site Features,
Here we are once again for the Dropping Dimes staff to choose the top 15 players at each position to start for your fantasy team in Week 15. You can bet we won’t make any mistakes like the Western Conference coaches in not choosing Josh Howard. Sorry, coaches, but you got that one wrong. Hopefully, David Stern makes it right. Okay, my personal views aside, here are the rankings. Enjoy it like a fat kid enjoys cake.
Teams and Number of Games for the Week:
Atlanta Hawks - 4; Boston Celtics - 4; Charlotte Bobcats - 4; Chicago Bulls - 4; Cleveland Cavaliers - 3; Dallas Mavericks - 3; Denver Nuggets - 3; Detroit Pistons - 3; Golden State Warriors - 4; Houston Rockets - 4; Indiana Pacers - 4; Los Angeles Clippers - 4; Los Angeles Lakers - 4; Memphis Grizzlies - 4; Miami Heat - 4; Milwaukee Bucks - 3; Minnesota Timberwolves - 4; New Jersey Nets - 4; New Orleans Hornets - 4; New York Knicks - 2; Orlando Magic - 4; Philadelphia 76ers - 4; Phoenix Suns - 3; Portland Trail Blazers - 3; Sacramento Kings - 4; San Antonio Spurs - 3; Seattle Supersonics - 4; Toronto Raptors - 3; Utah Jazz - 2; Washington Wizards – 3.

POINTSBULLISH
Carmelo Anthony, SF, Denver Nuggets
Last Week’s Numbers of Note: 4 G; 29.5 PPG; 44.1 FG%; 76.2 FT%
To all the head coaches in the Western Conference that did not choose Anthony as an All-Star reserve, I agree with you. That one punch and immediate backpedal against the New York Knicks was enough to sully all the hard work Melo had put forth in cleaning his rep beforehand. But, this is fantasy and whether you love him or hate him in real life, it doesn’t matter here. What also doesn’t matter is that Allen Iverson is now on the same team as Anthony because Melo is still getting his looks and scoring near his seasonal average since coming back from serving his suspension – 30 ppg in six games. In fantasy, you shouldn’t snub Melo, even with the Answer in Denver.

Sargent Says: Let It Snow…Somewhere Else
Posted by Scott Sargent Categories: Disses, Editorial, Props, Site Features, Talent,
It was nothing more than a running joke between my buddies and myself. Being from Cleveland, local players (regardless of the sport) came at a premium in our various fantasy leagues. Heck, Kellen Winslow, Jr. went in the fourth round of our fantasy draft a few years ago only to have his season ended by a fluke knee injury early on in the season. If you know anything about fantasy football, it’s to never gamble on a tight end early in the draft, as their production drops off very little after top tier. Either way, that didn’t stop some of us from going all “homer” in our drafts.
Where am I going with this, you ask?
Well, this week when news broke out that Eric Snow would not be the Cavaliers starting point guard for the upcoming games, and one Daniel Gibson would be, how many Eric Snow owners out there felt the brunt of this coaching move?

Dime Day: Dropping Dimes All-Star Team
Posted by Alvin Lai Categories: Editorial, H2H, Props, Roto, Site Features, Talent,
As the all-star break approaches, are you not worried about how many times we will have to watch Nate Robinson attempt his dunk this year? Well, me too, but let’s focus our attention on players more deserving of all-star talk.
Imagine you decided to go Marty McFly, and travel back in time to rewrite your fantasy league’s history. In preparation you pulled a fast one on your league mates, trading future considerations for picks so that you own the first 13 picks of the draft (I know, I know, any league that would let this happen would be dumber than a brick, but bear with me). Who do you pick to make an unstoppable team?
I posed this question to my boys here at Dropping Dimes in an effort to change things up a bit. The mid-season awards are being handed out, and it’s too easy to just list the top ranked players on Yahoo. Now granted, the best players will always come out as being must-have commodities in almost any format you could dream up. I figured with the structure of this actually being a team and using the current season’s stats, the exercise would lead to some interesting discussion…and it did. Thanks to D, Sarge and Ron for their input.
My hands are disappearing as I strum the riff to “Johnny B. Goode” so we better get this thing going. Ladies and gentlemen, here is our “perfect” draft. I tried to talk Doc Brown into letting us take a glimpse at the final season statistics, but he mumbled something about this causing too much damage to the space-time continuum so we’ll just have to speculate how the second half is going to go.
