Nikki Reed Files for Divorce

Nikki Reed has filed for divorce from Paul McDonald.
The Twilight Saga actress, who announced her separation from the former American Idol contestant in March and is rumored to be dating Dancing With the Stars star Derek Hough, filed courts documents to legally dissolve their marriage in Los Angeles Superior Court on Friday.
The 25-year-old star cites irreconcilable differences and asks that her estranged husband, 29, be denied spousal support, according to court documents obtained by PEOPLE magazine.
The former couple, who tied the knot in October 2011 after a whirlwind romance and quietly ended their relationship eight months ago, previously insisted their split was amicable. Announcing their separation two months ago, a spokesperson for the actress said they were "still working [together] on their debut album, I'm Not Falling, and added, "[They] remain best friends and look forward to their continued journey together."

"'Maybe I'm wrong, but I feel like it's a mistake for people to get married and then just [have kids right away]. I feel like it is the pressure of the family making them do it. We want to travel and be able to fly on an airplane without a baby and just have freedom," she said.
Meanwhile the 24-year-old whose spouse is former American Idol contestant Paul McDonald says they don't have time for parenthood at the moment: "It's been a little stressful [lately] because it's been so busy. Paul's been recording his album full time, and I've been shooting, so we're both very busy right now."

American Idol’s Paul McDonald Dating Twilight Star

“It’s officially true,” Paul McDonald confirmed what the gossip columnists have suspected for the past several weeks. Fresh from his Thursday elimination from American Idol, McDonald confirmed that he’s dating Twilight’s Nikki Reed.
Paul never stopped smiling during his exit interview. His luck in love has apparently taken the sting from his Idol rejection. “When I first tried out for [the show], it was just kind of for fun, and I didn’t even expect to get this far in the competition.”
He’ll be moving forward with his music post-elimination. “I’ve been writing tons of material while I’m out here… I’ve been focusing a bunch on writing and working hard on stuff that’s coming out after Idol.”
We just hope he’s got a few more jacket designs up his sleeve, too.
