People Wonder Why Obama Is Called “Radical”

Obama

A blog that Democratic Presidential Nominee Barack Obama wrote on the far-left website, Daily Kos, has resurfaced. As of late, he’s been trying to fool us with the illusion that he’s a moderate. He basically asks readers to pretend to be less radical.

It’s been hard the last couple of weeks for the Obama campaign to spin stories made public by Republican Presidential Nominee John McCain, because recently, they’ve been using Obama’s own words against him.

Obama is as moderate as I am liberal. Here is a part of his entry.

I thought this might be a good opportunity to offer some thoughts about not only judicial confirmations, but how to bring about meaningful change in this country.

Maybe some of you believe I could have made my general point more artfully, but it’s precisely because many of these groups are friends and supporters that I felt it necessary to speak my mind.

There is one way, over the long haul, to guarantee the appointment of judges that are sensitive to issues of social justice, and that is to win the right to appoint them by recapturing the presidency and the Senate. And I don’t believe we get there by vilifying good allies, with a lifetime record of battling for progressive causes, over one vote or position. I am convinced that, our mutual frustrations and strongly-held beliefs notwithstanding, the strategy driving much of Democratic advocacy, and the tone of much of our rhetoric, is an impediment to creating a workable progressive majority in this country.

According to the storyline that drives many advocacy groups and Democratic activists - a storyline often reflected in comments on this blog - we are up against a sharply partisan, radically conservative, take-no-prisoners Republican party. They have beaten us twice by energizing their base with red meat rhetoric and single-minded devotion and discipline to their agenda. In order to beat them, it is necessary for Democrats to get some backbone, give as good as they get, brook no compromise, drive out Democrats who are interested in “appeasing” the right wing, and enforce a more clearly progressive agenda.

The country, finally knowing what we stand for and seeing a sharp contrast, will rally to our side and thereby usher in a new progressive era.

-My answer to all of your comments bashing me…

I guess you all have a point. When someone suggests you pretend to be less radical, that means you’re not radical anymore. You all got me there. Don’t ever use that “you can put lipstick on a pig” crap anymore, because according to all of you drones, he’s not a pig anymore. Bottom line… Progressive = RADICALISM

His type of socialist agenda has never once, in the history of man, succeeded.  A few countries in Europe that have been experimenting with Socialism, are getting back to what works…Capitalism. Liberals never learn from history. One example….Ireland. Check that success story. They got rid of the system Obama wants to put in place here.

I am appalled that anyone has the nerve to state, “McCain admits in the year 2008 he cannot use a computer to send email.” Mr. McCain’s physical disabilities are the result of his unselfish service to his country and enduring over 5 years of hell as a POW, fighting to preserve the freedoms of callous, ungrateful people like you to spout off your mouths and criticize their leaders without fear of ending up in jail or the guillotine. It’s true—John McCain is the only candidate who ever fought for his country.

You state that “evolution [is] a fact about the world on which we are able to make tremendous medical progress.” First off, if any scientist has ever proven “evolution” (macro-evolution, that is) to be a “fact”, that’s news to me. It’s been a theory from the start. To prove it as a fact, you’d have to have been there millions of years ago. Were you? I don’t see how “macro-evolution” has contributed to medical progress. No one disputes “micro-evolution”, but I don’t know if you’re aware of the difference between the two. (Oh, you must. Liberals are not ignorant.) You’re just arrogant. You can’t prove religion is fiction either.
