Still reaching out to techie voters, the Obama campaign now has a billboard in the Xbox 360 game Burnout Paradise. Any advertiser can buy space, including those with presidential ambition. On the other side of the fence, the McPalin group has sent a letter to YouTube complaining that the site doesn’t consider fair use in videos before taking some of them down. Microsoft Officially Outs Xbox Bundles

Xbox ArcadeNews from the Tokyo Game Show includes Microsoft’s formal announcement about their Xbox 360 holiday bundles. As part of their new Xbox Experience, the Arcade comes with Sega Superstars Tennis (plus bonus games) for $199.99, and the Pro at $299.99 includes LEGO Indiana Jones and Kung Fu Panda. Go for the deluxe Elite at $399.99 and get the same two games. From the titles chosen it appears obvious that they are aimed at the younger crowd that have yet to discover the “experience.”

InstantAction has announced the debut of their open beta for Mac OS X users. Gamers can register on the site and play Rokkitball, Marble Blast Online, Think Tanks and the FPS, Fallen Empire: Legions. Mac owners can also play PC users with cross platform compatibility. System requirements are Mac OS X 10.4.11 (or later) with Intel chipsets for some of the games, while others need Mac OS X v10.5.4. Safari 3 and Firefox 2 are supported. Check with the site for more specifics.

Nintendo Promises Wii Availability For Holidays

WiiNintendo says that there should be more Wii consoles available for this holiday season in the U.S. They also say that more Nintendo DS handhelds will be available.

Nintendo’s exec. vice president of sales and marketing Cammie Dunaway said, “While there’s no way to gauge total demand for our hardware systems, we’re trying to satisfy as many of those players as possible.”

We shall see. With the economy the way it is, we expect Nintendo will want to get as many consoles out there as they can.

Nintendo to Release new DS

DSRumor has it that Nintendo has plans for a new DS that will come out in time for the holidays. The DS2 will take pictures and play tunes. Also equipped for wireless application, it is expected to be less than ¥20,000 (~$189.00) when it is released in Japan. Although the DS is doing better globally, the PSP is outselling the DS there. We have no doubt that this move will make it more popular for those want the addition of the new features.

Bleeding Edge TV 292: Wii Sports Resort preview

Sports is one of the most popular and accessible console pack-in games of all time, so it’s only natural that would want to follow up with a paid offering. That’s where Wii Sports Resort comes in. The sequel to Wii Sports will be the first game to be compatible with the add-on, which feature 1:1 mapping of your Wiimote. The game will come bundled with the MotionPlus device and an extended Wii Remote Jacket, both of which will also be sold separately. Games announced to be included (so far) are: Frisbee (Disc Dog), Jet Skiing, and Kendo, with more to come. Wii Sports Resort will launch in Spring 2009.


Gameloft to Develop Android Games

Bubble BashGameloft has announced that they plan on developing 10+ games for Android. The first to be developed will be Bubble Bash and will launch in Q1 2009. They are planning on the rest for later on that year. Michel Guillemot, Gameloft’s pres and CEO said,

“The momentum and excitement for the Android has been building for some time,” said Michel Guillemot, president and CEO of Gameloft. “We plan to fully support this platform since it provides another great outlet for an enhanced gaming experience for consumers.”

We will get excited when they come up with a mobile game that has a little more momentum.

Aptus is working on a new line of Mini-Motion USB controllers for both PC and Mac in the shapes of cars, balls, racers, and skateboards. Each of them will be available for $19.99. The company says that the games, which will include those with action, strategy, puzzle, reality, racing, and sports, will be streamed directly from an included disc. Look for the first ones to appear in Q4 2008.
