Panasonic Lumix DMC-GF1

‘s new Lumix DMC-GF1 Micro Four Thirds camera has a lot to brag about with its 12.1-megapixel lens, ISO 3200 sensitivity, 720p 30fps AVCHD Lite or Motion JPEG video recording, HDMI out, and 3-inch LCD.  Panasonic will be selling the Lumix camera will be sold as two kits.  One kit will have the camera with a flat 20mm/f17 lens, and the other with a 14-45mm/f3.5-5.6 zoom.  Each of these kits is priced at $900, so that’s kind of a bummer, especially considering that the Olympus E-P1 is $100 less and lists better specs.

We have found another electronic staple that has gotten smaller. Panasonic has unveiled their Micro Four Thirds system camera, saying that it is the planet’s smallest. The LUMIX DMC-G1 has no internal mirror structure that is used in DSLR cameras so the size and weight has been halved. The camera’s flange back has been reduced from 40 to 20mm. The G1 will be available in the U.S. soon, comes in black, red and blue, and carries a MSRP of $799.99.
