The pieces of the Batman puzzle are finally starting to come together.
Today, we learned several new tidbits about the franchise’s next installment – which, from this point on, we will officially call The Dark Knight Rises.
Although we do already know that Tom Hardy will be joining the Christopher Nolan project, it’s been unclear which character he will play. We can now say with certainty which role he won’t be playing: the Riddler.

Toy Story 3 HD trailer is beautiful

Well, be sure to peep the amazing trailer above for Toy Story 3 to see just how far they’ve come in that timeframe to making things look downright fantastic. The humans look more lifelike than ever, the Barbie and Ken stuff oozes of rich CGI animation goodness, which pretty much just means that it was worth the wait.

IMAX Tickets for Avatar Already on Sale
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: 20th Century Fox, Action, Adventure, Science Fiction, Thrillers, Upcoming Releases,
It’s never too early to start buying Christmas presents…or ordering movie tickets.
Avatar is not even scheduled to open for another four months, but those eager to get good seats can guarantee their spots now. AMC has already begun selling tickets to midnight showings at 75 theaters. Most of those locations are IMAX venues.
James Cameron’s 3D sci-fi entry received good worth of mouth after an extended preview on IMAX screens last week. (You can view a teaser trailer here.) It was this overwhelming interest that prompted the theater chain to begin advance purchases.
“They said that if all these people are going to come to our theater to see 16 minutes of a film that doesn’t open until December, let’s give them an opportunity to buy tickets to the first performances of the show itself,” Chris Aronson, Fox’s Senior VP of Distribution, said.
Since the film’s running time hasn’t been confirmed, only midnight viewings are available at this time. Avatar opens on December 18.

IMAX Delay for Half-Blood Prince
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Warner Bros, Adaptation, Adventure, Science Fiction, Technology, Upcoming Releases,
Warner Bros. may be sticking firm to its third Half-Blood Prince release date, but that won’t prevent delays for the film.
Due to a conflict with a previously scheduled blockbuster, most IMAX theaters (aside from one in New York in one in LA) will not be able to show Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince until July 29. That equates to a two-week delay from the July 15 premiere.
What will be occupying those theaters up until that point? Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. The Paramount feature has a month-long commitment starting with its June 26 debut.

Holiday Gift Guide 2008: The Dark Knight
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Features, HDTV, Home Entertainment, Movies, Men, Teens, Under $25,
We have yet to come across anyone who didn’t appreciate this movie (and we’re sure they’ll come out of the woodwork in the comments now that we said that,) and it is with good reason. The Dark Knight has so much going for it in terms of entertainment value and action. Batman’s voice aside, everything about this movie screamed “awesome.” This is why we have to recommend it in our Holiday Gift Guide. Now, primarily we are recommending The Dark Knight Blu-ray, because that is going to give you the amazing visuals and sound you come to expect from a movie like this. That said, we understand that not everyone is equipped with the latest in high definition gadgetry, so we will also recommend The Dark Knight Special Edition DVD as well. The Blu-ray version retails for $35.99, but we found it on Amazon for 33% off at $23.99. The special edition DVD version sells for $34.98, and we found it for 40% off on Amazon at $20.99.
Dark Knight Set to Re-Release in January
Posted by Robin Paulson Categories: Warner Bros, Action, Adaptation, Adventure, Classics, Mystery, Sequels, Thrillers, Awards, Box Office, Distribution,
Warner Bros. now has plans to re-release Christopher Nolan’s record-breaking Batman sequel this January.
While I initially heard the news of The Dark Knight‘s re-release plan, I was excited to see that it may have a second chance to break Titanic‘s record; however, I was met with disappointment to discover that their motives linked to more materialistic goal named Oscar.
January is the prime voting season for the Academy Awards, and those determined folks at Warner Bros. don’t want anyone over there to forget about that impressive summer blockbuster of theirs.
