Western Digital My Passport Pro

Western Digital has announced its new My Passport Pro external Thunderbolt storage drive. The new device features two internal drives with user-selectable RAID functionality, making it perfect for those working with high-end graphics and video, and those who need more reliable mirroring.

On the inside, you'll find two 2.5-inch drives, with one model totaling 2 TB, and another providing 4 TB of storage. Drobo Mini

Aside from the awesome Drobo 5D, Drobo is also announcing its new Drobo Mini storage array. Supporting up to four 2.5-inch drives (either HDD or SSD, or any mix thereof,) this is the first portable Drobo that the company has released. It looks slick too. To insert the drives, you simply push it in, then push it again to remove, almost like a SIM card or CableCARD slot. Drobo even built its own custom power supply for this thing to go with its rugged design, ensuring maximum portability. You also get the same SSD port that the 5D has, allowing you to accelerate data speeds even more. Dual Thunderbolt and USB 3.0 round out the offering here. The Drobo Mini will be available in July, no pricing details have been revealed just yet. Check out the video below for more details.

SanDisk Ultra SSD now available, ready to replace your aging hard drive

SanDisk Ultra SSD

When SSD drives first hit the scene, they were obscenely expensive, making just about everyone wait for prices to come down. Now, it seems, we are at a point where SSD manufacturers are hoping to convince you that a simple swap of the old HDD for a new SSD will be a much better financial decision than replacing the entire computer, and in many situations, we think that's a valid argument. SanDisk is one such company, and its new Ultra SSD is now shipping to retailers. You get 280 MB per second read speeds and 270 MB per second write speeds, and the drives are available in three size capacities. You can grab a 60 GB model for $129, a 120 GB version for $219, and lastly, you can score a full 240 GB for $449. You can grab e'm now over at Newegg.
