Bleeding Edge TV 495: Behind-the-Scenes at Turn 10 & Forza Motorsport

I got behind-the-scenes at Microsoft's Turn 10 Studios to bring you a look at the team that develops Forza Motorsport. You'll hear from Turn 10 head Dan Greenawalt about that it takes to build a next-generation racing game for Xbox One launch, and I go one-on-one with Turn 10's best Forza player in a battle for supremacy (and I'm not that good...)

You can pick up Forza Motorsport 5 from Amazon.

Bleeding Edge TV 492: Fiesta Movement VidCon Road Trip

VidCon 2013 was amazing - join me for my August Ford #FiestaMovement #Adventure video, where I took a road trip from Seattle, WA to Anaheim, CA to bring you all the sights and sounds of VidCon! As a bonus, I run into a few of my follow agents like Black Prez and Jarek 1:20. If you're unfamiliar, VidCon is an annual conference where YouTube stars attend to give sessions and meet up with their viewers and fans. There are concerts, talks, autograph signings, food trucks, parties, and plenty more.

Bleeding Edge TV 490: Fiesta Movement Forza Motorsport 5 behind-the-scenes

Ever wonder what goes on behind the scenes at your favorite video game companies? For my August Ford #FiestaMovement Gaming mission, I visited Turn 10 Studios, maker of the Forza Motorspot racing games to get a look. I starred in a behind-the-scenes documentary that focuses on Turn 10 and the upcoming release of Forza Motorsport 5 for Xbox One, and in my mission video, I give you a look at that whole process.

You'll see me on set, cameras and microphones in my face. You'll see me in makeup, getting my head powdered. You'll also see me race again the best Forza Motorsport player at Turn 10 in a moving chair with 3 HD displays in front of me. Intense, right?

I also talk with Dan Greenwalt, the main man at Turn 10, about what makes a great Forza player, and I take Gabriel Garcia, the man in charge of building the in-game vehicles and making them look amazing, on a joy ride in the 2014 Ford Fiesta ST.

Ford to produce a 177hp 1-liter EcoBoost motor

ford fiesta st

A few weeks back we hit you with the top 10 automotive technologies to look out for in the future. Well, the some of that future tech is hitting us faster than we thought. Ford, along with BMW, has set the ball rolling to move into the future now.

Like many manufacturers, Ford has taken a stand to achieve more miles per gallon. However, as many know, more miles per gallon usually means no power and no fun. Ford doesn’t believe that this needs to be the case. The birth of the 1.0-liter motor will likely come forth sometime in the next few months over in Europe, and soon in the US soon after.

Hearing that a car has a 1.0-liter might sound odd to us in the States, but the tune of 177 horsepower does not. Now, granted, not all 1.0-liters will be the same, but Ford has some plans for the Fiesta ST, which will turn the already peppy car into a cracked-out peppy go-kart driving experience. The standard Fiestas will feature a 3-banger producing a mere 100+ horses or so, but the ST version will have 177 horses. Given the power to weight ratio, that will be one hell of a ride. Here’s to you, Ford, in giving us MPGs and HPs in the same ride. Cheers.
