Gossip Girl Wardrobe Costs $19 Million

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Celebrities, News, Rumors, Men, Women,

Gossip Girls Blake Lively and Leighton MeesterThe Gossip Girl wardrobe is worth an estimated $19 million.

The hit TV show, which follows a group of wealthy New York teenagers, is famed for its designer clothes, bags, jewelery, shoes and other accessories. Each episode of the series, which stars Leighton Meester and Blake Lively, features a string of exclusive outfits, which are stored in an impressive wardrobe spanning 1,500 sq ft and five floors.

Chace Crawford, who plays Nate Archibald on the show, said, “The girls disappear into that wardrobe for hours. They are like kids in a candy store! In fact, I always ask them not to schedule my fittings after Blake’s, because she always makes me late for my next scene. I tell them they have to get her enough Disneyland time.”

Costume designer Eric Daman has revealed it is a lengthy process trying to decide which pieces are featured on the show: “We average five to six looks per character—a total of 80 outfits per episode. And you have to go through 500 to get to that 80.”

Chace insists most of the wardrobe space is occupied by outfits for the leading female characters: “I have five pairs of shoes in a large box. They have clothes spread over five stories!”

Michael Fassbender Loves Leather Speedos

Michael Fassbender in 300

300 hunk Michael Fassbender likes wearing leather Speedos.

The Fish Tank actor, who dons a series of unusual outfits for his roles in forthcoming movies Jonah Hex and Centurion, refuses to limit himself to art house movies because he prefers the outfits he dons for big-budget films.

“I like doing both kinds of films. It doesn’t always have to be social commentary. Besides, I like running around in a leather Speedo.”

The actor also admits he is willing to tackle almost any film role if it feels right, and doesn’t worry about embarrassing himself in the process:

“I’ve been going on my gut pretty much from the beginning. I’m not always going to get it right, but risk interests me. There is some embarrassing element to everything I do in life. I used to beat myself up about it, but if you’re really going to learn and expand you’ve got to be open to doing things that perhaps don’t work out in the way you envisaged.”

Scarlett Johansson Feared Hot Iron

Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow Scarlett Johansson‘s sexy Iron Man 2 catsuit was too “hot.”

The Hollywood beauty, who plays Natasha Romanoff and her alter-ego, Russian spy Black Widow, in the new superhero movie, had no qualms wearing the skin-tight outfit, but worried she would overheat while filming fight scenes.

“The first time I saw the suit I just thought, ‘That looks like it’s going to be really, really hot!’ Literally—the temperature was very hot,” she said of the costume.

Although Scarlett struggled with the stifling temperatures inside the black catsuit, the 24-year-old blonde star wants to reprise her role for another Marvel comic book adaptation: “the Black Widow has many different incarnations and different story lines so I’m hoping she will be able to continue in that way. I’m hoping that if the fans like the character and support the character, we’ll see her again.”

Scarlett’s husband Ryan Reynolds is already in talks to have his own superhero spin-off movie, based around his X-Men Origins: Wolverine character Deadpool.

Dress Up Like Hollywood for Halloween

Britney Spears at the VMAs

What’s hot this Halloween? Hollywood is always hot, and this year the costume ideas are churning right out of LA. Will you have the popular look this October 31st?

Britney is in…at least, she’s in if you’re trying to make her look bad. This Halloween, plenty of men are dressing drag and letting beer bellies hang. The look? , a la the VMAs. The costume? Extremely skimpy – so don’t wear it unless you plan to stay indoors.

Little boys are gearing up as mini and suiting up in the black costume, so be prepared to meet pint-sized heroes at the door this year.  outfits are still in; it’s the Halloween look that just won’t go away (like the movies).

Spartans sporting the 300 look will be appearing at parties this year, as will the more comedic look of ’s Ricky Bobby. Though the movie is old (over a year, now), the look is not – elaborate and over-the-top costumes are all the rage for those who want to go all out.

TV is getting attention from Halloween revelers as well. This year, kits and -esque outfits are flying off novelty shelves.
