The GoPro HERO4 captures 12MP photos at up to 30fps, and built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth allow you to connect to the camera remotely to control it with a smartphone or remote control.

GoPro Hero4 Black edition offers 4K recording at 30fps

GoPro has announced the new GoPro Hero4 Black Edition camera, which takes its top-of-the-line model and adds in 4K recording at 30 frames per second, what many video enthusiasts consider to be the holy grail for a pocket camcorder. That’s not all, as it can also do 1080p at 120 frames per second (great for slow motions video recording,) and takes 12 megapixel images, up to 30 per second. On the inside you’ll find a processor that is twice a fast as what was in the GoPro Hero3+ Black Edition, as well as a redesigned microphone with double the dynamic range as the previous model. Built-in Bluetooth and Wi-Fi allow you to use a smartphone or tablet as a live remote viewfinder for the Hero4 Black Edition as well, which is just awesome. For those that drive on a daily basis, we’re sure you all have your horror stories to tell, and we’re sure some are just too good to believe. That said, when the issue is pressed can you prove that what you say is true, or will it be our word against yours? We hate to give you a reality check, but the law may not always be on your side; even if you’re not at fault. Here in Washington, if you hit someone from behind, it’s automatically your fault. How could you prove that you were completely stopped and that the person in front of you rolled backwards into you? If you're like the dude in the video above, the answer is simple. Install a dash cam. Sure, it may seem nerdy, but at least it got him out of paying $500 for something that wasn't his fault. Check out the video above for the full story.

Unboxing Live 062: DXG USA A80V 1080p camcorder

Cheap handheld camcorders seem to be all the rage these days, so it’s rare that we focus on them unless they have some sort of standout feature set. Heck, the iPhone 4 records 720p H.264 video itself. Today, we are focusing on the DXG USA A80V handheld camcorder because we think it has a few features that set it apart from the pack.
The A80V is a 1080p camcorder that records at 30 fps, 1080i at 60fps, and 720p at 60fps. All videos are recorded in H.264 MOV file format, which is perfect for pulling directly off the camcorder and viewing/editing immediately. A lot of similar cameras require a transcode before you can view or play with the files. It’s got a 10 megapixel CMOS sensor, 5x optical zoom, 10x digital zoom, 3-inch touch display, and even an HDMI output (with HDMI cable included.)

2009 Holiday Gift Guide: Kodak Zi8

We love how inexpensive it’s gotten for people to attain the ability to record high definition video, and we think this category is set to explode this holiday season. Based on this, and you know how much we love video, we’ve got to recommend the Kodak Zi8 handheld camera. Why? Well, the Kodak Zi8 records full 1080p HD video at 30 fps, and can also take 5 megapixel still images. It incorporates image stabilization as well, which helps avoid that whole Blair Witch shaky cam effect that none of us enjoy, and in a rare move, it even has a microphone jack so you can connect a nice, high quality audio device, if you so choose.
It’s definitely a great value for such a small device that packs a nice punch. The Kodak Zi8 typically sells for $179, but you can find it on Amazon for a little less than that.
Honorable Mention:
Flip Mino: It isn’t HD, but it’s about $60 cheaper than the Kodak Zi8.
