New Kids and Backstreet Boys Team Up for Tour

Boy band fans (or should we call them man bands now?) will see all their dreams realized in 2011: the New Kids on the Block and the Backstreet Boys are close to teaming up for a tour of the United States. (Too bad it’s not 1996.)
NKOTB recently reunited, and now it seems they’re ready to take the act (back) on the road. Reportedly, the two bands are in negotiations with Live Nation Entertainment to book the event.
The New Kids teamed up with the Boys once before, performing together at Radio City Music Hall. A third band is also being considered for the tour. Boyz II Men is rumored to be the first pick.

While it’s sometimes easy to forget about Justin Timberlake‘s boy band roots, the entrepreneur is either kicking back to his NSYNC days or just becoming lazy with his hair. Timberlake showed off his new old ‘do when he recently walked on to a movie set.
I, for one, did not miss the curls—I hope that his stylist gets them chopped off soon (or at least until he’s done shooting his scenes).

New Edition and NKOTB Working Together

What do you do when you’re a reunited boy band in need of a publicity stunt? You join forces with another boy band.
Last week, the New Kids on the Block hit the recording studio with the group that hit the music scene before them: New Edition. It was the first time both Maurice Starr creations have worked together on a project.
The song - which does not include bad boy Bobby Brown - is being put together by RedOne, the same man also responsible for Heidi Montag‘s new track ‘Fashion.’ (Just in case that news raises any red flags for you.) According to the producer, the song “sounds very universal and melodic and has both sides in it: The R&B, which is New Edition and the pop side for New Kids.”
You can expect to hear ‘Full Service’ on NKOTB’s upcoming album.

Yesterday we told you about Nokia’s four new offspring. We found a video that was done in honor of one of them, the N-81. We sure hope Nokia is paying attention. Not only can this help the career of the
band singing it, Pop4Real, we would love to see commercials like this instead of the heavy sell that we are inundated with constantly. Heck, we were about ready to preorder one of the video/game players after listening to the catchy tune without even realizing that it will set us back €430 (~$588.00.)
