Boston Acoustics Horizon Solo Tabletop Radio

We have shown you a lot of bizarre radios, so we thought it was time to get back to basics. Boston Acoustics has released the Horizon Solo, their smallest tabletop radio with backlit blue LED. Place the 5 x 8 x 6-inch device vertically or horizontally or set it on its side for cramped quarters. The radio has 3 knobs for mode, volume, and tuning, and 2 buttons for dual alarms. The Solo also features a snooze bar, up to 20 presets, a stereo headphone jack, and an auxiliary and AM/FM antenna inputs. Choose between grey and white and look for a price of $99.99. An extra $9.99 will give you a colored front grill as well.

Coby Electronics HD Radio Receivers

Coby Electronics has released a pair of cordless HD Radio Receivers. The HDR-700 and 650 receive digital HD, AM, and FM stations with no subscription charge. Each features an LCD display with backlighting, a preset station memory, and SDcard slot, and is housed in a brushed aluminum casing. The receivers come with remotes and have both an RCA connection and 3.5mm headphone jacks. Look for prices that start at $99.99, depending on where you shop.

Sony Gets Back to Musical Basics

Sony Dual Cassette Recorder While we know that most people are into the MP3 experience, many of the ~~older~~

“earlier” generation still use cassettes for recording and duplication. Besides, if you head into any bargain aisle, you can get some decent prices on tapes. Sony has issued the CDF-W77, a dual dubbing tape recorder with AM/FM tuner. In case you have some of both or want to take the plunge in digital music, there is a CD player included. The CDF is available for €100 (~$146.00,) at this point only in Japan.

Duck Radio Relieves Stress

Still cleaning up from all the Thanksgiving hoopla? Take a nice long bath with the Floating Mood Duck Radio. His right wing features an on/off switch for lighting. TEAC Goes Nostalgic

TEAC GF-650 TEAC’s GF-650 Retro Stereo System allows you to turn your old LPs into a CD collection. The player/recorder can deal with up 32 tracks of music that can shuffle or repeat. The auto-return turntable can handle 33 1/3 and 45 records and is compatible with T4P mount (P-mount,) and let us not forget the AM/FM tuner with horizontal scale rotary volume control. Just in case you have audio from cassettes that you want to transfer, there is also an auxiliary input. You might have to eBay off one of your old LPs just to pay for it.

If you’re the parent of a “High-School Musical”-loving tween, we present to you this iPod dock/clock radio. The gadget features digital AM/FM in stereo, a backlit LCD display, a video output to watch iPod content on TV, an AC adaptor for charging and the option to wake up to the radio, iPod or alarm. As much as we’re like, so over “HSM”, we’ve gotta admit, this dock is pretty unique with some cool features, and the $60 USD price tag isn’t bad. The multi-tasking device supports “most” iPods, and will be available at Toys’R'Us in October, perfect for holiday gift-giving and the nationwide frenzy for the upcoming “High School Musical 2”, debuting August 17.
