Michael Kors Makes Practical Handbags

Michael Kors handbags believes that the handbag is an essential wardrobe piece; the 50-year-old designer claims women should have a multitude of bags available for all situations.

“When you’re purchasing a handbag it’s like a piece of your wardrobe. Sometimes you buy a really expensive piece that you only take out for special occasions, sometimes it needs to work for your everyday life. Bags are the same. Additionally, the bag that you originally purchased as a special item over time works its way ‘down’ your ladder, and in five or ten years becomes your everyday piece.”

Discussing his own bags, Michael admits he designs them with functionality in mind: “The women I know lead very busy lives and they have a lot to think about. Their bags have to function, so most of them carry a lot of stuff. That’s why we have lots of pockets and zip compartments.”

He also claims his label is performing well despite a downbeat economy, because his customers are “discerning.” He told the Scotsman newspaper, “We have had an amazingly successful year. Recession is a big word, and obviously the global economy has taken a hit over the past two years. But during difficult times, women don’t stop shopping, they just become more discerning in what they are looking for.”

16 USB Ports to Hold You

Posted by Finnian Durkan Categories: Accessories, USB,

ThinkGeek USB 16 super hubYes, the title is a Veruca Salt reference; deal with it!  If you need 16 USB ports for your desktop then my making vague Gen-X references to underachieving bands that never quite made it is the least of your problems—concentrate, Pvt. Pyle!  Jeez, do I have to do everything for you?  Yes?  Okay then: ThinkGeek has the cure for what ails you.  Well, only if what ails you is your desk’s lack of a tangle of sprawling USB cables that would embarrass an Octopus—two of them, in fact!  The USB Super 16 Port Hub sports its own internal power supply and can turn the most modest of desks into a cutting-edge tangle of fiber-optic cables.  Another spec benefit is that up to two PC’s can hook up and share the Port Hub at the same time.  This means that you can play dueling banjos with your work PC and your MacBookPro without fear of choosing which nerd-demographic you’re going to piss off, Switzerland!  Also, at $159 it’s cheaper than buying 10 t-shirts that say ‘There’s no place like 127.0.0.1’ on them, will still up your geek cred and will not have the un-wanted side-effect of getting you punched in the face, unlike the former.

Jonathan Ross Project Natal

Long-tenured UK TV host Jonathan Ross was able to give the upcoming Xbox 360 motion gaming add-on, , a try. Aside from the hint of jealousy he left us all with, he also tweeted out an interesting tidbit of information on his Twitter account, which in a nutshell says that he feels that Natal has potential, and that Microsoft has until October to get it right. So the obvious question is, does that imply that Natal gets an October launch (which does fit in with the holiday 2010 launch period)? Or does it mean it has to all be done so they can start packing and shipping devices for launch in early November? I’m sure everything will be made clear in a couple of months at .

Hit the break for a video of Jonathan giving Project Natal a try.

Madonna May Design Line for Macy’s

Madonna

Could we soon see in a commercial with Martha Stewart and Jessica Simpson?

According to Women’s Wear Daily, the singer may become the latest celebrity connected to a product line sold at Macy’s. The 51-year-old is reportedly nearing a deal that would have her name linked to contemporary women’s collection.

Potential items sold would include accessories, clothing, intimates and shoes. Brand names in contention for the new lines include “Material Girl” (that seems too easy a choice to me) and “Truth or Dare” (for the lingerie department).

Three years ago, Madonna also launched “M by Madonna,” which sold in H&M stores.

Unannounced Final Fantasy XIII Xbox 360 faceplate (custom console?) spotted!

Final Fantasy XII Xbox 360 Faceplate

Our friends over at Gamertag Radio just posted a video promoting their Community Vibes 5 event (which takes place this Saturday) with Major Nelson, and we couldn’t help but notice what appears to be a yet-to-be-announced Final Fantasy XIII faceplate on Major’s desk! We haven’t seen or heard about this anywhere, so this may, in fact, be the first time it’s been seen in public. Even more interesting, though, is the fact that Microsoft has kind of forgotten about the whole faceplate-only thing, which leads us to believe that we may see a Final Fantasy XIII Xbox 360 bundle. If you wanna peep the video, we’ve got it for you after the break.
