iPhone 3G

This morning released and firmware version 2.2.1. There doesn’t seem to be a lot to note in this one, compared to some of the other point releases for the platform that we’ve seen in the past. Here’s a look at some of the changes:

iPhone 2.2.1 Software Update

This update contains bug fixes and improvements, including the following:
- Improved general stability of Safari
- Fixed issue where some images saved from Mail do not display correctly in the Camera Roll

Products compatible with this software update:
- iPhone
- iPhone 3G

To get the update, just connect your iPhone or iPod touch to your computer and have iTunes check for it.

Does anybody know what Apple broke with this update? The last few updates I installed on my Touch either broke something or added a new “feature” that I neither wanted nor liked (e.g., requiring the track number in front of the file name and renaming all my files).

From what I’ve read (in this article and others) the update does not contain any new functionality, but I’m curious if anyone found something that the update broke.

The update did not break any thing in my ipod.

Everything seems the same :S

It has not put numbers in front of my songs and I have both itunes bought and um. . .  well Limewire (Y)

yhe new update doesnt do anything

I updated last night, it was fine until noon today. It is now frozen. Can’t shut it down or run anything on it. Will have to restore to factory. Happy Happy Joy Joy.

Grabbed the update for my ipod touch.  Now I cant run any of my downloaded apps.  Not even the pay ones.  Only the pre-loaded apps (safari, calendar, etc) still work.  Wonderful improvement, apple!
