If you still have dial-up web service and you live in the United States, Germany, the UK, Korea, Mexico, Australia, the Netherlands, Singapore or South America, you can make $0.0005 per minute or over a dollar a month just for leaving your computer turned on. We know it sounds strange, but although we first heard and promptly forgot about Gomez PEER almost a year ago, it has again reared its head in our e-mailbox.

To join the Peer club, you must download their software and leave your computer running 24/7. Then it will provide what the site calls “the most realistic picture of Web performance.” What do you suppose Gomez is really doing when its subscribers are sleeping?
