Zune HD features confirmed
So, you know that Zune HD we brought up the other day? Looks like it is definitely the real deal. In fact, Neowin just published a list of specs that they were able to confirm through Microsoft. We should make note that this isn’t a full list of specs either, but rather what Microsoft was willing to let out for the moment. Take a look:
- 3.6 inchish OLED full touch screen
- NVIDIA Tegra powered
- 4GB, 8GB, 16GB, 32GB, and 120GB versions
- HDMI Connection to stream straight to your TV
- HD Radio
- Web Browser
- WiFi compatible, with wireless marketplace
- Released early fall
- International release of the Zune device itself
- Home AV packs, Car packs, Charge packs

Looks totally sweet! I’m glad to see that zune is finally raising the bar. It’s been too long…
anyway, my question was this: are the photos of the zune HD just photoshop mockups, or are they the real thing? I hope they’re genuine!

Doooooooooooooooooooooode!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This zune shall fulfill my dreams! I’ve been praying for a touch zune for ages. ( I can’t even imagine buying an ipod…ever ) I really hope this info is legit, cause if it aint, then there’s gonna be some major disappointment.

Now if they include Bluetooth in this they’ve got themselves a winner. There are basically no decent bluetooth players out there yet, and Apple IS going to include bluetooth in their next iPod Touch.

ok, just to let you know, the Nvidia tegra is a speculation, there’s no for sure that this is included, nor is the whole idea of the zune hd guaranteed. the “HD” will not come in all those sizes, only 16, and 32gb sizes. the screen will be multitouch, and rumors say it will support xbox360 3d games on it… but they come at a price…
all i can say is that i hope zune abandons the windows mobile version of IE and sticks w/ another… IE is horrible… horrible…
also, if you are willing to wait for possible years, rumor says zune is also developing a zphone, a name they could quite possibly use is the Zone… “z” from the zune and “one” from phone… put that together and you have one, kick@$$ phone coming out!!!
International release??? nawww, as of now, microsoft is debating even realeasing it to Canada, the U.K, and France.
but lets hope for the best!!!

My biggest hope would be that existing accessories are compatible. I have a car kit and a home AV pack for my 4GB. I know I’d have to get a different AV pack to do HDMI but I’d hate to be forced to buy new just because of a new connector.
And I gotta agree about Bluetooth. I already have the headphones that I use with my WinMo phone. I 120GB Zune (HD or not) with iPod touch-like capabilities PLUS A2DP? And Zune Pass? Now THAT’S an iPod killer.
