Apple: Use of iTunes to produce nuclear weapons not allowed

iTunes License Agreement

Just a quick public service announcement to all our peeps out there, because we care. I know many people don’t read license agreements, but in case you are both:

  1. An user
  2. A terrorist

We need to make sure you know that you are not allowed to use iTunes, the digital music and video jukebox software, to aid in the “development, design, manufacture or production of missiles, or nuclear, chemical or biological weapons.”

We clear on that?

Actually, you’re many, many, MANY months past this being news. This has been in the disclaimer for a very long time.

Hm.  What if I’m listening to iTunes while assembling a nuclear weapon?

From what I understand, this comes from the fact that iTunes uses various encryption technologies which the US Government considers weapons technology.

That said, if I’m evil enough to be building nuclear weapons, I’m sure the warning on the package isn’t going to stop me.

but is not that like a general requirement for any software?

Well, there goes hat one. Now I’m going to have to figure out how to use Zune Marketplace to make nuke’s instead. LOL!!!!

What’s even more interesting in the user agreement is the last paragraph on the bottom of page 19 of the 55 page user agreement…the one that states that by clicking on “Agree”, you now agree to any future changes the “service” and Apple decide to add-that means you are agreeing to be bound by rules they impose that they haven’t even written yet—you know, like maybe big fines for tethering, or maybe privacy invasion.. who knows, but I never have heard of something this unconstitutional—you agree that they can hold you to a contract they haven’t even finished writing yet!  Very interesting Apple.  I won’t click on it, that means I won’t update anymore apps—they can kiss my a*s!
