Gear Live iPhone giveaway

What makes our so special? Well, we’ve had it customized and done up in Gear Live colors. Heck, we even put our logo on it, so you can rock the fact that you are a fan of what we do here. Also, we will unlock it for you, if you like, prior to sending it over. We are gonna make this one easy too. The contest starts today, and will end on July 2, 2008. Between now and then, we are gonna be monitoring comments left throughout Gear Live, and forum posts. If you are a regular participants in those areas, you will have an opportunity to win. On July 3, we will compile a list of members who have been active during the contest period, and we will then choose our first, second, and third place winners randomly. Here are the full details on the three packages:

Grand Prize:

  • Customized orange Gear Live iPhone
  • 3 LRG | Monster iPhone cases of your choosing
  • LRG Tee Shirt
  • iCableLink iPhone headphone jack adapter
  • iSoniTalk iPhone microphone

Second Place:

  • 2 LRG | Monster iPhone cases of your choosing
  • LRG Tee Shirt
  • iCableLink iPhone headphone jack adapter
  • iSoniTalk iPhone microphone

Third Place:

  • 1 LRG | Monster iPhone cases of your choosing

Oh, and just to be clear, if you spam, you are eliminated from the contest. We are looking for people who genuinely add to the conversation across our network in blog comment posts, and on the Gear Live Forums. That means you have to be a member of the site to win, so if you aren’t already, go ahead and sign up. One last thing, we can only award the prize to a resident of the USA. If you plan on winning and you don’t live here, you’d better have a cousin or great aunt with an address in the US that we can ship your package to.

A big thank you to LRG and Monster Cable for helping us out with this contest.

We will be monitoring points internally to gauge activity, but points won’t be the deciding factor in determining a winner wink

With that said, isn’t it quite like the last contest just minus the point factor. Because really, the determining factor was really contribution in the end. I’m sure some users had more points via spam and lack of constructive posts but Buckeye was a consistently helpful poster.

Yes contribution does play a role in this contest, spammers can’t win.  What’s really different about this contest is that it’s not the quantity that will be counted, but it’s really the quality and the activity on the forums/website.  Just making a lot of posts or comments won’t increase your chances of winning, everyone who participates has an equal chance of winning.  After all, the contestants that are active and don’t spam are put in a list and out of that list the winners are chosen randomly.

I’ve submitted this contest on Digg to bring more traffic to Gear Live.  I know we have at least 6 contestants competing, so we should be able to get 6 Diggs.  Digg this contest at http://digg.com/tech_news/Gear_Live_iPhone_Contest

Wait, sorry if I misunderstood but does that mean contestants are like put in a hat and chosen? Or did I get the wrong impression from what you were trying to say. Sorry.

they ran away! Lol

Yep…i ran away too…but then started going through withdrawals so I had to come back for my fix lol

Thank you Andru! I’ve been eagerly waiting for this contest, well, we all have! Good Luck to everyone!

By the looks of the rules for the contest points won’t have any play on this contest. Just be active and contribute to forums and such during the time period mentioned and the winner will be randomly drawn from the active participants. Sounds like a good contest and the custom iPhone is absolutely sweet looking. Good luck to all of those that are active and enter to win it.

Wow, great contest yet again, Gear Live. Thank you for even having a contest like this. Best of luck to everyone and I hope to see a lot of new members! wink LRG is very generous and those are some sweet little prizes. Oh, I have a quick question, will the points have anything to do with this giveaway? Some of my comments on blog posts don’t add to my points now.

As Andru posted in his original post, the winner will be chosen randomly.

I live in Canada and I know absolutely no one in the USA…maybe someone, haha, but anyways, I’m pretty sure I’ll find someone if I do end up winning. Fantastic contest Gear Live! The three prizes are awesome and the iPhone is sweet.

Did Apple do all the custom engraving/colors or was it a separate company that did that? Very neat.

Makes me think of orange cream sickles.  Good luck to everyone that’s gonna try to win.  What a hot prize for what’s turning out to be a hot summer.

This will be incredible. Too bad the HDX wasn’t in orange and white! That would’ve been pretty cool. Also, Jess, I think they might have used http://www.colorwarepc.com to get it custom painted, but not sure. Good luck to everyone in the contest, and if your not, your nuts, join GearLive and enter the contest.

Yup, you are correct. The fine folks at Colorware hooked up this iPhone with its colors.

Good luck to everyone. I love the gearlive iphone.  With all the extras. also really nice of you the have a 2nd and 3rd place. The colors are great. Ibdabloke you are right, it reminds me of a cream sickle too.

Thanks for mentioning its from Colorware.
I definately wouldn’t mind doing this to my brothers iPod Touch as a gift!
Great contest by the way!
Looking forward to July 2nd when the winner is revealed!
Good luck of course to everyone!

Wow, that iPhone looks even better than the 3G iPhone!  This sounds like a better contest than the previous HP HDX Contest because the winner isn’t chosen based on quantity.  This way everyone makes quality contributions to the forums instead of making lots of posts/comments and spamming Gear Live.  I plan to participate in this contest, good luck to other participants!  If anyone could take time, please Digg this story.  This will help get this contest get more noticed.  Just scroll up and click the Digg button, or if you haven’t done so yet register a free account at Digg.com and digg this story.  We need more members here.  If this is a success then we will definitely see more contests, think of it this way. wink

Nice prize!  I like the colors, kinda reminds me of the homepage (No duh! raspberry) Was just about to ask if it was unlocked, but simply had to re-read the post.

I like the colors and the accesories that come with it. And of course the iphone. I would love to win one.

This would be sweet to win! Then I could finally have an Iphone, and still keep my T-mobile service. AT&T;can suck it!

Oh wow, thanks for letting me know about ColorWare. I didn’t know about it and I spent a couple of minutes this morning browsing the site. They did a fabulous job with the iPhone 3G for Gear Live, but we can’t forget about the iPhone 3G either, so both the custom stuff and the iPhone = wowowowowow.

That phone is sweet looking. Can’t wait till the 2nd to see who wins it. I agree the rules for this contest are much better than the one for the HDX Dragon. Hopefully I can get lucky and win this awesome looking phone. I could really use an upgrade lol. Good luck to everyone that participates.

Today is the day!
