Antec FANPAL Glowing USB Cooling Fan

There are so many unique USB devices out there, that it seems many have lost focus of what the USB slot is meant for. Today, we tried out a device that is marginally unique, but seems old-school due only to the fact that so many other USB devices are just too zany. We just received this interesting USB device from Antec which they are calling the FANPAL. You see, it’s cool because it’s spelled with all CAPS. Nonetheless, we just hooked it up and have a few short impressions of the device, which you can check out after the jump.

When the FANPAL is off, it is a curious little creature. It looks like a large case fan is just sitting on your desk, waiting to be inserted into a PC.

Now that’s more like it. Look at the pretty colors…oh, wait. Still looks like it belongs in a PC case, but I think that is the draw of this product. It’s for the uber-geek in ya.

The true test, though, was if the fan actually was strong enough to cool you down. Sitting at my normal distance away from the PC, it certainly performed well. It’s a keeper.
