Box Office Breakdown: The Lorax Settles at the Top

The Lorax

When up against a full-length animated adaptation of a Dr. Seuss classic, Project X didn't stand a chance in its debut.

The Lorax -- which features the A-list voices of Zac Efron, Taylor Swift, and Danny Devito -- took in $70.7 million at the box office this weekend, well over the $20.8 earned by the high school party comedy. The Navy Seal action flick Act of Valor was bumped down to two slots to #3 with $13.7 million while the Denzel Washington and Ryan Reynolds spy thriller Safe House stayed put at #4 with $7.2 million. Not too far behind #4 was Tyler Perry's Good Deeds, which earned $7 million.

Jean Dujardin’s Accidental Success

Jean DujardinJean Dujardin believes his career is a "happy accident."

The French star - who won the Best Actor Oscar for his role in silent film The Artist - admits he never considered working in movies after a career as a stand-up comic and on the television.

"I didn't think about cinema. It could've ended at the cabaret stage. But I crossed over, and happy accidents kept happening. I never stopped working. But it was never a career plan."

However, the 39-year-old hunk is keen to stick to his French roots despite his success because to ask for more success would be "indecent."

"I've always been put into boxes with labels on them. What's funny is to make fools out of people. And not to stagnate in just one role - that's the essential thing. If there was a nice project I will star in an American film, but I don't have the fantasy, that dream. To make movies in France is huge enough. It would be indecent to ask for more," he added to Britain's Marie Claire.
