Michael Keaton Up for ‘Beetlejuice’ Sequel
Posted by Robin Paulson Categories: Warner Bros, Science Fiction, Sequels, Comedy, Celeb News, Celebrity Gossip, Upcoming Releases,
It looks as though we might be a little closer to a decent Beetlejuice sequel.
While doing the press rounds for his latest film RoboCop, Michael Keaton admitted that he is interested in reprising his role for the 1988 cult hit:
"I've e-mailed [directpr] Tim [Burton] a couple of times, talked to the writer a couple of times, but all really, really preliminary stuff... I always said that's the one thing I'd like to do again, if I ever did anything again. But it kind of required Tim to be involved in some way or another. Now it looks like [Burton] is involved... And without giving too much away, we've talked to each other, and e-mailed each other, and if he's in, it's going to be hard not to be in."
If Keaton is a go and Burton is a go, what's the hold up?

Michael Keaton: Robocop Costume a “Sissy Suit”
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Columbia Pictures, MGM, Action, Remakes, Science Fiction, Celeb News, Filmmaking, Upcoming Releases,
Michael Keaton claims the new Robocop costume is a "sissy suit."
The actor - who appears in the cyborg cop reboot as Raymond Sellers, CEO of the evil Omnicorp organization - joked the special effects armor Joel Kinnaman had to wear as the title character wasn't a patch on the rubber suit he had to don to play Batman in 1989.
"That sissy suit - they have air conditioning in it. [When I played Batman] I couldn't do [any] of that because I couldn't get up to go the bathroom. They put me in this thing and inside, honestly, I started having panic attacks. Literally, panic attacks. So, I thought, 'I don't know how I'm going to do this, man. I'm feeling really, really scared.'"
While costume design has come on since the 80s, Joel said his 45lb suit was still difficult to wield, and took almost two hours to put on each day. "It was a bit of a challenge to put on. It was so uncomfortable, it was digging in everywhere, it was pressing down on my shoulders, and I was sweating like a pig. After twenty minutes, I said, 'I gotta get out of this!' And then, it was a daunting idea that I was going to have to wear this for 14 hours a day, six days a week for five months," he said.

Timothy Dalton: From 007 to Toy Story 3
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Disney, Animation, Family, Sequels, Comedy, Casting, Celeb News, Upcoming Releases,
Timothy Dalton is to star in Toy Story 3.
The 63-year-old actor - who played British spy James Bond in Licence to Kill and The Living Daylights - will voice melodramatic hedgehog Mr. Pricklepants in the Disney/Pixar sequel. If he is allowed to keep his Welsh accent, the actor will be the first Briton to feature in the popular animated franchise.
Disney president John Lasseter revealed Dalton’s casting yesterday in addition to part of film’s plot. In excerpts shown, the toys - including Tom Hanks’ Woody, Tim Allen’s Buzz and Kelsey Grammer’s Stinky Pete the Prospector - were sent to a daycare center when their owner Andy grows up and moves to college. After days of terrible abuse at the hands of toddlers, the toys stage a dramatic break-out before going on the hunt for a new home.
Cars star Michael Keaton will also voice a new character in the film - Barbie’s boyfriend Ken.
Toy Story 3 will be released on June 18, 2010.

Which Caped Crusader Outshines All?
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Adventure, Sequels, Casting, New Releases,
Batman is back and he’s just as heroic as ever, but Christian Bale isn’t exactly walking where no other actor has ever trod before. The new Batman movie may make it to the top of the box office, but will the new Batman make it to the top of this list?
That’s right, it’s time to put an end to that age-old question: who was the worst Batman, Clooney or Kilmer? Let’s rate the Batmans from worst to best, and find out which man shines as the greatest Bat-like hero of them all.

This Week on HD DVD and Blu-ray: January 08, 2008
Posted by Johnny Mercedes Categories: 20th Century Fox, Buena Vista, Fox Searchlight, Lionsgate, Paramount, Sony, Universal, Action, Adaptation, Adventure, Drama, Foreign, Foreign Language, Horror, Independent, Science Fiction, Sequels, Thrillers, Home Entertainment, New Releases,
This week marks the release of the first batch of high-definition DVDs since on-the-fence Warner landed decidedly on the Blu side; I must admit, as an HD DVD man, the day feels a bit colder than normal. But no matter—the format war is far from over.
On a lighter note, both formats have some exciting titles to speak of, including the Blu-ray release of one of my favorite movies from 2007, Sunshine; Roman Polanski’s Oscar-winning film, The Pianist, on HD DVD; and the long-awaited special edition of David Fincher’s Zodiac, also on HD DVD. The DVD release from July contained nary a special feature, so this two-disc director’s cut ought to please those Fincher fans waiting for a decent version.
Check out the full list of high-def releases after the jump.
