Kanye West Lands Cameo in ‘Anchorman 2’

Kanye West in 'Anchorman 2'Kanye West is to have a cameo role in Anchorman: The Legend Continues.

The 35-year-old rapper was spotted filming scenes for the comedy sequel - which stars Will Ferrell as bungling news reader Ron Burgundy - on the set in Atlanta, Georgia, on Tuesday.

Kanye was dressed in an afro wig and was seen fighting with several famous faces, including Tina Fey, Amy Poehler and Sacha Baron Cohen. Anchorman 2 will feature a host of big name stars in roles, such as Liam Neeson, Will Smith, John C. Reilly, Nicole Kidman, Jim Carrey and Jane Lynch. Meryl Streep is also hoping to make an appearance in the highly anticipated movie and has even approached returning cast member Steve Carell about getting her a part.

"Meryl told me she was a huge Anchorman fan and she'd love to have a cameo in the sequel. That could be really funny. There are going to be plenty of great cameos in this movie," Steve previously said.

Josh Brolin Was Worried About MIB3

Will Smith and Josh BrolinJosh Brolin worried he might "ruin" the whole Men In Black series by appearing in the third movie.

The 44-year-old actor plays Young Agent K in the film alongside Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones - who reprised their roles in the sci-fi movie as Agent J and Agent K respectively - but he was concerned about how his co-stars might react to him joining the film franchise.

"I thought, 'Oh, yeah, this could be a career-killer. I could ruin an entire series, because I'm severing this great iconic duo, this great chemistry that people really enjoy.' If someone came to my franchise and said, 'Listen, you're still going to bookend it, but we're going to bring in this younger guy instead,' I can't imagine I wouldn't be like, 'Huh? What are you talking about?' I don't know if he felt like that. And if he did he'd never tell me."

Despite starring in a number of big blockbusters, Josh - who has been married to actress Diane Lane since 2004 - admits he no longer feels he has to "push" himself in life and doesn't mind taking the "boring" approach.

Men In Black 3 is the ‘Most Action-Packed Movie Yet’

Men in Black 3Men In Black 3 will have "more action, aliens and magic" than the previous two films in the franchise.

The movie's director Barry Sonnenfeld believes the latest addition to the sci-fi comedy series has "something new and inventive" in the shape of a time travel element that sees Agent J (Will Smith) go back in time to the 1960s to stop an alien from assassinating Agent K (Tommy Lee Jones).

"The relationships are incredibly strong. From Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones, between Will Smith and Josh Brolin. And I think we also have more action than in Men In Black 3 than in Men In Black and Men In Black 2' Also, more aliens and more magic. The audiences will be amused, amazed and also moved. I think if we can do all of those three things then we'll have a really successful movie. With Men In Black 3, it's not only a Men In Black movie, it's also a time travel movie. We wanted the movie to be both familiar and different. We wanted to bring Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones back together again. But we also wanted something new and inventive, and that came in the time travel element," he said when asked what the chemistry was like between Will and Josh Brolin - who plays a younger version of Agent K.

Adam McKay to Direct Uptown Saturday Night Remake?

Adam McKayAdam McKay is in talks to direct the remake of comedy Uptown Saturday Night.

The Anchorman director is expected to start work on the project after completing the sequel to the Will Ferrell comedy, which is set for an early 2013 start and 2014 release. Will Smith and Denzel Washington are in line to star in the film with the Men in Black star and James Lassiter's Overbrook Entertainment developing the movie, Deadline reports.

The 1974 motion picture - which starred Bill Cosby, Sidney Poitier, Harry Belafonte and Flip Wilson - sees friends Steve Jackson (Sidney) and Wardell Franklin (Bill) partying at a illegal nightclub when they are forced to hand over their wallets to masked bandits. But the day after Steve learns that his wallet contained a winning lottery ticket, so the pair enlist the help of underworld crime bosses and fake detectives as they set out to get his winnings back.

Timothy Dowling - who wrote the script for This Means War - is in line to pen the movie and he has previously described the film as having a "similar tone" to 2009 comedy The Hangover.

Will Smith Originated Men In Black 3

Men in Black 3Will Smith came up with the concept for Men In Black 3.

The actor reprises his role as alien fighting Agent J in the third installment of the popular movie franchise and director Barry Sonnenfeld revealed Will came up with the idea himself, which sees him travel back in time to rescue his partner (played by Tommy Lee Jones).

"Will calls me Baz. When we were shooting Men In Black II [in 2002], one night he said, 'Hey Baz, I think I have an idea for number three.' The basic idea was that Will's character, Agent J, would have to go back into the past to save his partner. It allowed the movie to take place in another era, and us to learn more about Tommy Lee Jones' character. But it turned out to be a very long process of development, mainly because of the knotting issues of time travel, the time travel thing was really hard," Sonnenfeld said.

He also revealed he started shooting the movie without a finished script which made the whole process more difficult: "We knew starting the movie that we didn't have a finished second or third act. Was it responsible? The answer is, if the movie does as well as I think it will, it was genius. If it's a total failure, then it was a really stupid idea."

Willow Smith to Star in Annie Remake

Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Family, Music, Musicals, Remakes, Casting,

Willow SmithSomebody cue Comic Book Guy from The Simpsons, because we just discovered the Worst. Remake. Ever…and, it hasn’t even been made yet. Take a good look at Will Smith’s pretty daughter Willow. Now, imagine her with red hair.

Actually, the red hair is probably the first thing that’s going to go in the new Annie remake, and that’s only one of the reasons this is the worst idea we’ve ever heard. Willow Smith will take on the iconic role in a new film that’s being produced by -- guess who? -- her daddy’s company Overbrook Entertainment.

Our knee-jerk dislike of the remake idea (the original film, made in 1982, has long been filed in our Untouchable Classics category) probably won’t affect the Smiths, who may soon officially change their surname to Midas. After Jaden Smith raked in more than $300 million in his Karate Kid remake that featured absolutely no actual karate, there’s nothing this family can’t pull off.

Annie is the story of a redheaded orphan whose life is changed when she is adopted by the fantastically rich Daddy Warbucks. Carol Burnett defined the role of the mean orphanage owner who helps concoct a scam to steal Annie back from Warbucks, which eventually fails. The movie, like the Broadway musical that preceded it, is peppered with sensational songs.

And perhaps now, Willow’s “Whip My Hair.” Re-using old scripts is awesome.

Nicole Scherzinger, Betty White Join the Men in Black

Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones in Men in Black

UPDATE: White says she is not a part of the movie.

What do a Pussycat Doll and a Golden Girl have in common? They both have roles in the new Men in Black film.

The third MIB installment will not only bring back Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones, it’ll include appearances from and singer/dancer .

Earlier this week, the former Dancing with the Stars contestant not only confirmed her participation in the upcoming sequel – she gave away a big secret about her part.

"My name is Lilly. She's like a small villain role. I'm so excited because I get to die,” Nicole revealed. “I make an appearance. I say a couple of lines and then I die."

It’s not known what role White will play in the film.

Shooting on will begin in December for a May 25, 2012 release.

Justin Bieber, the Movie Star

Justin BieberSome guys

adolescent teen boys get all the luck…if they know Will Smith.

’s manager (whose name, by the way, is Scooter) let it slip in October’s Teen Vogue that the Biebs will take the leading role in a new feature-length film that Smith is producing.

If we could get Will’s kid Jaden in this thing and have both boys record another song together, the money would just rain down from the sky.

Considering the subject matter of the flick, we’re pretty sure that’s just how it’s going to go down. According to Scooter—and who could doubt his professionalism?—the film is a “fictional piece that may have some similarities to Justin’s life.” Production is “likely” to begin next spring or summer.

It pays to have friends in high places…and an entire horde of demanding tween girls as your fan base.

It’s All in the Family: Hollywood Nepotism

Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Casting, Celebrity Gossip, Filmmaking,

Hollywood sign

In most places of business, nepotism is frowned upon. In Hollywood, it’s part of standard casting policies. Why is it okay for La La Land to offer opportunities to unknown - but well-connected - actors, when hiring regulations are in place for every other industry in the country? Let’s dip our toes into the Tinseltown gene pool and see how many family trees we can count.

If you haven’t heard by now, Will Smith’s son is going to become the next A-list, must-have child star. He’s starring in the new Karate Kid reboot (a movie that’s unnecessary at best), and now he’s putting his on display in a movie soundtrack tie-in. Like it’s not already great being Will Smith’s kid, Jaden, 11, is now forging a strong career in the “family business.” Which just happens to be multi-million-dollar movie and recording contracts. Nice.

Is Jaden Smith the most talented kid for the ? Are his rap skills so superior that he deserves the outpouring of press he’s been getting for his involvement with the film’s theme song?

Frankly, it doesn’t f&*^ing matter. The Karate Kid reboot (which, we hate to break it to you, does

feature karate) is produced by and from its inception was intended as a Jaden Smith vehicle. No one else ever auditioned for the role of the Karate Kid, not that anyone else had a snowball’s shot in hell of landing it anyway.

Hollywood has always been the land where dreams come true…if you’ve already got an “in.”
