Sequel News: Wild Hogs, Happy Feet and More

Wild Hogs: The ride has just come to an end for John Travolta, Tim Allen, Martin Lawrence and William H. Macy. Wild Hogs 2: Bachelor Ride, a sequel to the 2007 comedy, has just been scrapped by Disney. Although it’s unclear why the Touchstone project was pulled, the film is just one of several canned since Rich Ross became the new studio chief.

300: We now have new info on what a possible 300 follow-up could entail. The story Frank Miller is currently drafting will take place 10 years before the 2007 film began. Although he is not formally attached to Xerxes, director Zack Snyder is reportedly interested in helming this story as well.

Ghostbusters: Sigourney Weaver may shift from her world of blue aliens to work with ghosts once again. The actress is apparently open to the idea of joining Ghostbusters III. “I might be in it and I see nothing wrong with being in it. I don’t think I will have a big part in it. I think Bill Murray has a little more to do with it,” Weaver said. “He might be a ghost.” Her character’s son, Oscar, is rumored to be a ghostbuster in the next chapter.

Inglourious Basterds: So we already know Eli Roth would be game for an Inglourious Basterds prequel, but where does Quentin Tarantino stand on the project? Speaking at the film’s DVD launch event, the director said he might revisit the story…just not right now. “I would be really interested in doing it, but I’m going to be doing something else next up, so we’ll see how it all falls into place,” Tarantino stated.

Happy Feet: Elijah Wood and Robin Williams are in talks to board Happy Feet 2, an animated follow to the 2006 entry. The script written by George Miller, the film’s director, is being kept secret. Voicing should begin early next year in Australia.
