Dropping Dimes On The Daily: January 18, 2007

Quentin RichardsonDropping Dimes On The Daily is all about me looking at the previous night’s performances and mentioning those that did pretty goodly and those that did pretty badly.  Goodly is a word, right?  Anyway, this will be a quick look around the league, so don’t expect a ton of text, just some daily fantasy basketball goodness!!!  Please note that this is the fantasy basketball section of ElevationMag.com’s Daily Top Picks.  Check it out and see your daily rumors, quotes, headlines, and facts!  But read the fantasy section HERE!
The Fig Cap: “I went crazy from the floor last night because I kept doing this a lot to my head.”

Quentin Richardson went absolutely bonkers last night, hitting seven treys, shooting 14-for-25 from the floor and ending up with 35 points.  And you can tell his shots were pretty much from the perimeter.  How?  As many shot attempts as he had in 39 minutes of play, he did not attempt one free-throw.  I watched the game and I have to tell you, Richardson better have bought Eddy Curry a drink last night because the Wizards were focused on stopping E-City, Q was getting a ton of open looks… But, Richardson did go inside a lot to grab 10 boards… Curry finished with 18 points and eight rebounds… Deron Williams had a career high 31 points and also had 10 dimes in a 100-99 Jazz win over the Detroit, ruining Chris Webber’s first game as a Piston.  C-Webb finished with two point, five boards, and three assists in 17 minutes of play.  FANTASY FORCE!  Just kidding.  Until the Pistons trade one of their big men (count on it being Nazr Mohammed), Webber won’t get much burn.  But, even then, Webber will be nothing more than an average fantasy player because of Chauncey Billups, Richard Hamilton, Tayshaun Prince, and Rasheed Wallace being on the same team… Welcome back Billups - 26/4/7 and three three’s… Kelenna Azubuike had an amazing game last night - 28 points, including four triples.  However, it won’t happen again once Stephen Jackson and Al Harrington comes to town…  Uh oh, T-Mac sat out last night’s game due to back trouble.  That’s not good.  However, if you’re a Rafer Alston owner, you didn’t care about T-Mac because Skip To My Lou hung 29 points and eight dimes on the Suns in a loss… Quinton Ross with 24 points?!?!  Of course it had to be a game against the up-and-down offense/(lack of) defense Warriors…  Board Monster Beast Award goes to Emeka Okafor with 21 glass cleanings… Shaun Livingston fans, I feel you.  Sam Cassell looks like he’s feeling a lot better, finishing with 23 points and 13 assists… Kyle Korver had 30 points, thanks to five treys, Korver’s weapon of choice… Brandon Roy will be Rookie of the Year and last night was a hardware worthy performance - 19/10/4 and six rock rips… Elton Brand not only had 27 points and 11 boards, but also five “get that shiznit out of here"s… speaking of which, I’m out!  Til next time!
