MONDAY (5/3)
- Romantically Challenged (ABC, 9:30): “Shawn romances Lisa’s friend Vanessa because her cable system carries the hockey championship games and his doesn’t.” She didn’t realize what type of scoring he had in mind.
- Castle (ABC, 10pm): “Beckett and Castle investigate the death of a big-name chef found frozen in a restaurant’s kitchen.” This would not be a good time to be The Naked Chef.
- Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood (Oxygen, 10pm): “Tori and Dean’s relationship is tested after uneasy rider Dean takes a spill on the motorcycle racetrack, landing him in the hospital. The accident leaves the couple conflicted—until Dean issues an apology.” The one who should apologize is the one the audience cares about the least.

Tori & Dean: Reality TV Royalty

Posted by Melissa Trebus Categories: Prime Time, Reality, Cable, Gossip,
Last Tuesday night was a night that I had been anticipating for nine months, the season premiere of Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood on Oxygen. I can honestly say that I feel like I have known Tori Spelling my whole life. I grew up with Donna Martin on 90210. I even thought she was hilarious as Violet on Saved By the Bell. Though I didn’t love So NoTORIous, I didn’t hate it either. She is just so… real. Last week’s season premiere episode caught us up on the lives of the McDermotts in 2009.
Little Liam is about to turn 2. Stella, the baby, is doing all the typical baby things. They have moved to yet another house. Dean is filming a television movie, and Tori is involved in about 720,000 projects, as usual. Something that is so great about this show is watching them struggle with things that normal, non-television, families deal with such as: Tori wanting to be a stay-at-home mom, but not having enough money; Dean wishing they could get their pre-parenting sex life back; and Liam being jealous of his new sister. This season promises us the drama of a motorcycle accident, a new book, an appearance on the new 90210, Tori dealing with Dean’s on-screen romance, and of course some drama with Tori’s infamous mother Candy.
Make sure you set your DVR for Tuesday nights, you can’t miss even one episode! While you are lying by the pool, check out Tori’s new book, Mommywood. I give it 4 stars!!!
Tori Spelling Drops Out of 90210
Tori Spelling may be willing to run her own Bed & Breakfast. She might even be willing to sell her own gourmet fries. But she apparently won’t do anything for money.
Although she was signed on to star in CW’s version of 90210, a paycheck dispute has forced the Tori & Dean star to drop out completely. This revelation comes after Spelling said she would be temporarily sitting on the bench to recover from her second pregnancy.
Earlier today, Deadline Hollywood Daily claimed the actress was actually holding out because of less than equal treatment. When Tori learned that her $10,000-$20,000 per episode number fell far below what Jennie Garth and Shannen Doherty were being offered (reportedly between $35,000-$50,000 per episode), she walked away.
Now the 35-year-old’s rep has confirmed to Us Magazine that Donna Martin won’t be seen anytime soon. “At this time, there are no plans for Tori to appear in the 90210 spinoff.”
I guess the record ratings Tori & Dean have been bringing to Oxygen aren’t really needed on the CW?

(You can view TV Envy’s Summer Television Programming Schedule here.)
MONDAY (8/4)
- Teen Choice 2008 (FOX, 8pm): “Miley Cyrus hosts the 10th annual gala honoring achievement in entertainment, sports and fashion.” If kids are wearing things from the 80’s, could that really be considered an achievement in fashion?
- I Want to Work for Diddy (VH1, 9pm): Series premiere. “Applicants compete to be Diddy’s next personal assistant.” The more babies you have, the more umbrella holders you need.
- New York Goes to Hollywood (VH1, 10pm): Series premiere. “New York moves to L.A. to pursue her dream of becoming an A-list entertainer.” Ashley Dupre has proven that you can live in New York and do the same there.
- Luke’s Parental Advisory (VH1, 10:30pm): Series premiere. “Former rapper turned adult-entertainment producer Luther ‘Luke’ Campbell auditions women for his company then gives his teenage son a lecture about pornography.” It’s The Cosby Show of the millennium.

MONDAY (6/16)
- The Bachelorette: DeAnna Tells All (ABC, 8pm): “With six bachelors remaining, DeAnna Pappas assesses the competition to win her heart so far, as do her six beaus.” Apparently revealing their boxers just hasn’t told her enough.
- Weeds (Showtime, 10pm): Season premiere. “Nancy, Andy and the boys, on the run after she set fire to their house, head to the beach and a ‘heartwarming family reunion’ with Judah’s grandmother.” Had I known this show was only 30-minutes long, I could have caught up a long time ago!
- The Mole (ABC, 10pm): “The contestants, clad in nothing but their underwear, hit the streets of Santiago, Chile and solicit clothing.” At this point, the show could probably use a little skin to ramp interest up a bit.
- Secret Diary of a Call Girl (Showtime, 10:30pm): Series premiere. “A high-priced London escort entertains a middle-aged client who enjoys role-playing and has a penchant for being down on the farm.” I think that summary says it all.

Tori Spelling Joins the 90210 Cast

Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Drama, Prime Time, The CW, News,
It’s official. Finding decent work after 90210 is apparently quite hard.
Just weeks after Jennie Garth was confirmed for the CW spinoff comes word of another alum’s return. Realizing the Bed & Breakfast business was just not going to pay the bills, Tori Spelling has confirmed she will have a part in the new show. (According to the rumors, she begged to be included.)
Although Garth will have a recurring role as a West Beverly guidance counselor, Spelling (Donna Martin) will continue where she left off: in the fashion industry. Her character - who once co-owned a boutique with Kelly Taylor - will reportedly have “one of the coolest stores in Beverly Hills.”
While we still have a few months until 90210‘s fall premiere, there’ll be plenty of opportunities to see Tori Spelling this summer. The third installment of her Oxygen show - now titled Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood - will premiere on June 17.

Reality Renewals: ‘D-List’, ‘Inn Love’

Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Prime Time, Reality, Bravo, Cable, Renewals,
After three years toiling her way through the bottom of the celebrity barrel, comedienne Kathy Griffin has not quite worked her way up. (Or so she says.) Thankfully for fans, this means another season of her Emmy-award winning series, My Life on the D-List.
While we can expect more appearances from Griffin’s usual assistants, there’s one thing we won’t see: more orchestrated blind dates like the one she had with Backstreet Boy Nick Carter. Kathy - who is currently dating millionaire Steve Wozniak (Apple’s co-founder) - recently told Jimmy Kimmel that “The Woz” will be seen on the show. No return date has yet been announced for the Bravo program.

**No new episode of Ellen today. She’s still recovering from all the doggy drama**
- Live With Regis and Kelly (ABC, syndicated): Jimmy Kimmel will be pulling double-duty this week as he fills in for Regis Philbin in NY and tapes his show in LA. (I’m guessing we’ll still be seeing him on Dancing With The Stars as well.) If we’re lucky, Guillermo will fill in for Gelman too.
- Prison Break (FOX, 8pm): The show returns tonight after being preempted by baseball last week. What? You don’t care either?
- Heroes (NBC, 9pm): Many fans have been waiting for Kristen Bell’s debut tonight. Unfortunately, she’s one more new character I’ll have to ignore.
