VIDEO: Jimmy Kimmel and the Handsome Men’s Club

Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Comedy, Late Night, Specials, ABC, Video,

Whether you’re watching it for the first time, or for the fifth time—this is some funny s**t.

On last night’s Jimmy Kimmel Live: After the Academy Awards special, the host gave us an inside look at the HMC, a.k.a. the Handsome Men’s Club.

Several items were on the agenda during the club’s meeting yesterday. Are Robert Pattinson and Taylor worthy of induction—or are they merely cute? (The Office‘s John Krasinksi already fills the club’s “cute” quota.) Should be allowed to change his name to “Handsome” Hawke? (Answer: Yes.) Is Jimmy Kimmel good-looking enough to even be in the club—let alone be it’s president?

Find out what happens - and who betrays Kimmel - in the video above.

Will Wicked’s Idina Menzel Appear on Glee?

Lea MicheleIdina Menzel

could may soon be visited by another Broadway star, one that could play Rachel Berry’s doppelganger.

Since Kristin Chenoweth has already made several appearances on the FOX series, it would only seem logical that her Wicked costar would some day cameo as well. After all, looks like she could fit right in. When Taye Diggs (Idina’s husband and former Rent costar) was asked about a possible appearance, he claimed Menzel would be game for a visit. “I know that she would love [to guest star on Glee].”

So what does Taye think about that resemblence between Lea Michele - formerly of Broadway’s Spring Awakening - and his Tony award-winning spouse? “We knew that existed far, far before the TV world did,” Diggs said.

2009 Screen Actors Guild Awards

Screen Actors Guild Awards

Last January, the Screen Actors Guild Awards was considered a pleasant distraction from all the writers’ strike business. Since the actors now face their own work stoppage, this year’s event once again served as a nice diversion.

With the Academy Awards less than a month away, tonight’s ceremony gave us a better idea of how that broadcast might pan out. Was Kate Winslet another double-winner this evening? Did Mickey Rourke wrestle an additional victory? Is Heath Ledger on his way to that posthumous Oscar? Get all the details after the jump!

Grey’s Anatomy Spinoff Details Revealed

Posted by Wendy Michaels Categories: Drama, Prime Time, ABC, Grey’s Anatomy,

Kate Walsh So far, we know that the Grey’s Anatomy spinoff will follow Dr. Addison Montgomery (Kate Walsh) after she leaves Seattle Grace. The exact details have been sketchy, at best, but we also know that there will be a two hour Grey‘s episode in May to launch the series. More info has recently been released about the circumstances that will have Addison leaving the rest of the gang, including an eye opening look at a successful health cooperative. The other players at Oceanside Wellness group will include Taye Diggs, Chris Lowell (Veronica Mars), Amy Brenneman, Tim Daly and Paul Adelstein (Prison Break). No telling if ABC will pick up the series, but you can bet loyal Grey‘s followers will be along for the ride.

Tim Daly on Board for Grey’s Spinoff

Posted by Wendy Michaels Categories: Drama, Prime Time, ABC, Grey’s Anatomy,

Tim DalyFrom the never-aging men’s club (of which, Rob Lowe is president), Tim Daly will be joining the cast of the hoped-for Grey’s Anatomy spinoff. Daly will appear in the upcoming two-hour Grey’s Anatomy episode that is expected to launch a spinoff featuring Dr. Addison Montgomery (Kate Walsh). Also on board for the new series is Paul Adelstein, who plays Secret Service Special Agent Paul Kellerman on Prison Break. What’s that mean for Prison Break fans? Is the writing on the wall for Agent Kellerman? That’s another story, I suppose. Adlestein did appear in the pilot episode of Grey’s. Sexy Taye Diggs has already signed on for the episode and potential new series. The two-hour extravaganza will put Addison in a position that may have her leaving Seattle Grace. Daly was last seen in the canceled series The Nine.

Taye Diggs Guests on Grey’s Anatomy, Possible Spinoff

Posted by Wendy Michaels Categories: Drama, Prime Time, ABC, Grey’s Anatomy,

Taye DiggsListen up ladies. If you were sad to see Taye Diggs’ series Day Break canceled, he will be returning to the small screen soon enough. And he may be sticking around longer this time. Here’s how it’s going to go down. Diggs will guest star on Grey’s Anatomy this season—in the Addison-centric episode we mentioned yesterday. This episode is the litmus to see if a spinoff series featuring Kate Walsh’s character will fly. The press is calling this a “back-door pilot” for the spinoff series. ABC, of course, has no details on who Diggs will be playing, nor have they confirmed that the spinoff will happen. The May sweeps episode will, however, have Addison facing a tough decision about whether or not to leave Seattle. Despite being serious eye candy, Diggs is a good actor and it’s nice to see ABC giving him a second try after the ratings fizzled for Day Break. I tuned in to Day Break to see Diggs, but couldn’t get past that Groundhog’s Day premise. Welcome back to television, handsome prince.
