This Week on TV (4/20-4/26)

My Boys

(You can view TV Envy’s Midseason Programming Schedule here.)

MONDAY 4/20)
  • Dhani Tackles the Globe (Travel, 9pm):  “The host attempts the Gaelic sport of hurling in Ireland.” Despite what you might believe, drinking is not involved in hurling. At least, not in in this case.
  • Table for 12 (TLC, 9pm):  “Eric and Betty take the entire brood to the dentist.” Betty had been threatening to give them “something to scream about.”
  • Ax Men (History, 10pm):  “Jimmy finds a once-in-a-lifetime log.” That’s all any mom can hope for. Right after seeing their son get married and welcoming their first grandchild.
  • The Hills (MTV, 10pm):  “Heidi and a relucant Spencer begin couples therapy.” Spencer had been hoping to meet with Dr. Phil, but he was too busy with the Octo-mom.

Friday Ratings: Terminator Ends Quietly

Although it was only listed as a season finale, The Sarah Connor Chronicles most likely ended its entire run on Friday. Despite impressive numbers after its initial debut, the series closed with only 3.6 million viewers.

Wednesday Ratings: The Unusuals Does the Usual

Despite a flurry of promotion for the new series, ABC’s The Unusuals did what most shows do in that time slot: not much of anything. The premiere lost 18% of its lead-in’s audience and made it that much easier for FOX to dominate.

Friday Ratings: Flashpoint Tops Slow Evening

Wednesday Ratings: CBS Gets Last Laugh from Special

Watching people work ordinary jobs might not seem interesting, but it apparently is when celebrities do it. The April Fools’ Special, I Get That a Lot, surprised many last night by pulling in stronger than expected numbers.  Unfortunately, a win over Lie to Me wasn’t quite enough for CBS. Idol still put FOX on top for the night.

Friday Ratings:  CBS Down But Still on Top

Although CBS didn’t see Ghost Whisperer-sized numbers, the network’s sports coverage did rally enough viewers to topple the competition.
