WWE Smackdown Spoilers (12/7)

We saw a lot of really bizarre things on last few episodes of WWE Friday Night Smackdown. First we saw a disgusting make-out session between “The Rated-R Superstar” Edge and Vickie Guerrero, and then we saw the return of Teddy Long, which would ultimately lead to the making of a huge triple threat match between The Undertaker, Edge and Batista at Armageddon, with the World Heavyweight Championship on the line. Oh yeah, and this whole ECW/Smackdown talent exchange thing continues, so we can expect to see the boys of ECW as well.
Which superstar got speared so hard that he was out cold for five minutes? Find out in this week’s spoilers after the jump.

WWE RAW Reflections (12/3)

WWE Monday Night RAW opens with “Y2J” Chris Jericho in the ring doing his whole “me want title shot” schtick. Jericho replays the video of WWE Champion Randy Orton accepting Jericho’s challenge for Armageddon. Orton comes out and it’s pretty much more of the same. The two get in each others faces - threat, threat, threat - and it almost comes to blows. Of course, Regal comes out and stops them. Orton and Jericho will pick each other’s opponents for the night. It would make sense for them to make Jericho face Flair. Now, that would be a good match. Instead, Jericho will face Umaga. Orton will face off against Shawn Michaels. Not bad main events!
After the jump, three WWE legends and an “Attitude Era” tag team make surprise “returns”!

BREAK_DOWN_THE_WALLS … OF JERICHO! The wait came to an end tonight and the questions (or lack thereof) behind the SAVE_US.222 videos have been revealed. Chris Jericho has returned to the WWE. Was it worth the wait? You may be surprised …
Monday Night RAW kicked off like every RAW should - with “The Heartbreak Kid” Shawn Michaels. Michaels lost a fantastic match last night at Survivor Series against WWE Champion Randy Orton. I knew he’d lose considering that he has such a limited schedule and doesn’t wrestle house shows - it’s highly unlikely that they’ll put the title on a guy who can’t won’t wrestle a full schedule. Shawn invited Orton to the ring and Orton answered by appearing on the Titon-tron and turning him down. According to Orton, HBK will also not get a re-match because Orton will apparently receive a figurative and literal torch-passing from some sort of marathon runner.

Monday Night RAW kicked off tonight with a surprise appearance from Friday Night Smackdown’s World Heavyweight Champion, Batista. How long has Batista been doing this? He is still an absolute nightmare on the microphone. He delivers all of his lines with the excitement of a brick and the cadence of Christopher Walken. Thank god for an equally surprising appearance by The Undertaker. Nothing like a little hype for Survivor Series at the top of the show. I still wish they’d make ’Taker look pale and give him purple boots and gloves.
Just to point out how bad Batista is, when discussing his “Hell in the Cell” match against The Undertaker this Sunday, he said, “Weapons are not only welcome … they’re allowed.” Stunning words. Absolutely stunning words.
The code has officially been cracked - when will the man behind SAVE_US.222 be revealed? Find out after the jump.

Booker T Debuts On TNA

Former WCW and WWE World Heavyweight Champion Booker T made his Total Nonstop Action wrestling debut tonight at the company’s Genesis pay-per-view. Fans have speculated for weeks that Booker would be Sting’s mystery partner for the main event, where they would take on Kevin Nash and TNA Champion Kurt Angle. Booker left the WWE a few months ago over disputes about his move to the RAW brand, as well as his suspension after supposedly failing WWE drug testing.
Booker received a huge ovation when his familiar, “Can you dig it, sucka’?” catchphrase played throughout the Impact Zone arena. While Booker did have the chance to win the TNA World Title, he came up empty handed as Angle retained after pinning Sting.
CNN Documentary Reveals Poor Journalism

Professional wrestling has long been the red-headed stepchild of both entertainment and sports - dismissed as “fake” for its predetermined outcomes and often criticized for its over-the-top personalities. So it comes as no surprise that when WWE superstar Chris Benoit killed his family and himself several months ago, pro-wrestling’s detractors saw their opening.
Since that day, speculation over the possible, albeit unlikely, link to those deaths and steroids has opened WWE to federal investigations as well as a firestorm of public/media scrutiny. Among the pieces supposedly “exposing” the steroid use of WWE superstars was CNN’s Death Grip: Inside Pro Wrestling, which aired this past week. In this broadcast, former WWE Champion John Cena was asked if he had ever used steroids. CNN showed his frank response as: “I can’t tell you that I haven’t, but you’ll never be able to prove that I have.”
But that’s not how Cena responded to the question. Join me after the jump for his full answer.

WWE RAW Reflections (11/5)

This weeks edition of WWE Monday Night RAW featured the much-hyped “one night only” (yeah, right) return of DX, as well as an appearance by “Stone Cold” Steve Austin. The WWE has kind of kicked the RAW storylines that have been running since Cyber Sunday to the curb in favor of this “novelty” episode. Never the less, I suppose it has been one of the more anticipated shows in recent memory. The most disappointing thing to me? It is pretty obvious that Chris Jericho will not be making his return for another couple weeks - it would make no sense to have him debut before Survivor Series.
Join me after the jump for more RAW thoughts, including the Santino/”Stone Cold” showdown.

Another one bites the dust on WWE Monday Night RAW. And once again it is a member of the main event RAW roster who goes down with an injury. Poor Candice Michelle. After raving about her abilities last week in my RAW reflections, the sexy women’s division main eventer went down mid-match with an injury. Even so, she still had one of the best matches on this week’s RAW. In my opinion, the Candice Michelle vs. Beth Phoenix best two out of three falls match for the WWE Women’s Championship was the best match of the night. The crowd seemed to be way into it, it was faced pace and the wrestling was solid - it was one of the best women’s match-ups I’ve seen in a long time. And then it happened. Candice climbed to the top turnbuckle and Phoenix hit the ropes, obviously trying to “crotch” Candice in the corner. Instead, it seemed Candice blew the spot, slipping on the ropes, twisting slightly and landing face and shoulder first into the canvas.
Read more about Candice’s injury, the next SAVE_US.222 teaser and Shawn Michaels after the jump.
