Barbara struggled to hold back the tears as Oprah, 55, brought out 25 female news anchors - including Katie Couric and Diane Sawyer - who have all been inspired by her six-decade career.

Real Wonder Woman Sounds off on Sarah Palin

Lynda Carter

For years (four, to be precise), Lynda Carter wowed fans in her skimpy flag-inspired costume and deadly accessories. She personified truth, justice and beauty with her raven locks and rock-hard abs. She was Wonder Woman, and for many men who remember her heyday she still is a heroine.

But when asked her feelings about , whom the media refers to as a wonder woman, the “real” Wonder Woman didn’t even try to act demure. What did Lynda Carter have to say about the self-styled hockey mom, bulldog-in-lipstick who is John McCain’s running mate?

Be advised, her show may have been child-friendly, but that doesn’t mean Lynda Carter’s political comments are.

Tina Fey Channels Palin on Saturday Night Live

Although Saturday Night Live was down one Barack Obama (he didn’t appear in light of Hurricane Ike), the audience was up one Tina Fey. As rumored, the former cast member returned to her old stomping grounds last night to portray her political look-alike: Sarah Palin.

In the hilarious opening sketch, Fey touched on several topics from the Charlie Gibson interview (her view of Russia, the Bush Doctrine). Meanwhile, Amy Poehler played an (understandably) jealous and bitter Hillary Clinton.

The Day American History Changed

Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Reality, Editorial,

Barack Obama

The first televised presidential took place between a man named John Kennedy, and another by the name of Richard Nixon. The latter had a darker complexion, a five o’clock shadow and let’s face it - he wasn’t as young and attractive as JFK. Many historians believe that if these debates had not been televised, for the very first time giving Americans an up close and personal look at their candidates, the election might have gone a different way. That’s the power of television.

Now, all debates are televised. Hours and hours of news coverage are devoted to those debates, to interviewing the candidates, to talking about political ideas and promises. For months, those same television newscasters have been talking about this year’s presidential election, and in their way they have helped to write one of the most important pages of history. That’s right: it’s official. has secured the democratic presidential nomination. CNN, via television, broke the story first.

Choose or Lose the Democratic Candidates

Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Reality, Specials, MTV, Gossip,

MTV Logo Veterans, , and the Associated Press will all get together on Thursday to have a “candid discussion” (MTV) about the ongoing war in Iraq with the democratic Presidential hopefuls. Scheduled to last only one hour, the special will take up considerably less time than a standard democratic debate, and will air at the abysmal time of 6 pm EST (when it’s almost certain only about twenty people will catch it). The broadcast will be shown on all MTV-named channels (too numerous to list) and will be streamed across almost two thousand Web sites.

The sit-down discussion with Senators and is part of the Choose or Lose effort, geared toward getting the 18 to 30 set to vote. The special will take place in Pennsylvania, where a primary will be held April 22. MTV research indicates that those aged from 18 to 24 are most concerned with Iraq, with 6 out of 10 in this group personally knowing at least one person who has actively served in the war.

The event is to be commercial-free, words which frighten me because I’m sure the product placement from MTV will be off the charts. was also invited to participate, but scheduling conflicts caused him to beg off.
