Oh, Glee! An Interview with Jane Lynch
Jane Lynch, who plays acid-tongued coach Sue Sylvester on Glee, recently sat down with CNN to talk music, television and Broadway. Sylvester is currently appearing in the off-Broadway production Ephron’s Love Loss And What I Wore in New York.
“I think that Glee speaks to the underdog in all of us,” she said at one point. “These are a bunch of kids who, in spite of getting slushies thrown in their faces…they show up every day, dutifully, at Glee club, to sing their hearts out.”
“A song is never sung for no reason,” Lynch smiled. “She has no filter. And it just comes right out,” she said of her character Sue Sylvester, always a highlight of the episodes in which she appears.

Co-star Matthew Morrison, who plays Glee club head Will Schuester, is a great admirer of Jane’s. “I will watch Jane Lynch spread butter on toast,” he admitted. He remained mum on any upcoming spoilers, but offered one small hint: “There is going to be a lot more bombshells dropped.”
The next new episode of Glee, “Hairography,” airs Wednesday at nine pm (EST) on FOX. In this installment of the series, singer Eve guest stars.
