Star Trek Case We dig that that there is plenty of hype around the new Star Trek movie, although we doubt the next generation can equal some of its predecessors. Still it has inspired lots of new accessories, including this iPhone case mod, which is actually an old Star Trek pin glued to the back. Hmm. We wonder if we attached our old tribble to the back of our phone, would it reproduce?

Surprise Showing of New Star Trek Movie in Texas

It pays to be the right Trekker at the right time. Two hundred moviegoers in Austin, Texas, who were told they would see a trailer to the new Star Trek movie along with “The Wrath of Khan” Monday night, were pleasantly surprised when the Alamo Draughthouse Theater previewed the entire film. The older film had started when it appeared to have melted. After a couple of minutes Leonard Nimoy came out and told fans the good news. Mr. Spock hung around for the showing, as did filmmakers Roberto Orci, Alex Kurtzman and Damon Lindelof. The reaction was mostly positive, going as far as a standing ovation when it was over.

Netflix Warehouse If you are a Nightline fan, then you probably caught the piece they did about Netflix. They announced that they have delivered their 2 billionth movie. All together they have over 46 million movies available. How do they get all that work done and on time? Workers begin a 3:00 a.m. in the morning. Help India, Buy Ghajini

The Bollywood Hindi language movie “Ghajini” has become the inspiration for India’s first 3D video game. Both movie and game are thrillers about a man with short-term amnesia. The game has already launched in India and will be distributed worldwide by Eros International. The National Association of Software and Service Companies predicts that the Indian market will grow to about $1.3 billion and will provide employment for 30,000 animators. So not only are you playing a unique game, you are helping the country.

Notorious Party Goes Out of Control

Notorious movie A Brooklyn after party put three revelers in the hospital recently when the celebration got a little too violent. The party, touted as the “official” after event to celebrate the movie Notorious (a biopic on rapper Notorious B.I.G.), took place at the Djumbala club.

One victim, 21, was stabbed multiple times and was classified as being in critical condition upon arrival to the hospital. Three others who suffered stab wounds were said to be stable. It is not currently known who did the stabbing, whether the police have anyone in custody or how the party deteriorated into violence in the first place.

Wall-E We just couldn’t let the day go by without mentioning one of our fave movies of the year that was released today. How could you not love “Wall-E?” If you order the Blu-ray 3 disc deluxe version from Amazon, you also get access to BD Live, a free download for a mere $24.99. It comes with the short “Burn-E.” That will keep the little nippers busy while you get ready to tell them that this holiday may be slimmer than the last. You can also order a regular one disc widescreen DVD at a decent $14.99.

Star Wars Clone Wars Movie Trailer

Here’s what we are thinking. Not to like Star Wars is practically like being anti-American. But the thing that is best about the series is how the fantasy is made better by turning it into a reality. But in this new movie, even Yoda is a bit too creepy. If you haven’t yet seen the trailer for Clone Wars, take a peek, and decide for yourself if it is worth paying outrageous ticket and popcorn prices to see on its August 15 debut. We think we may wait for the video to come out and catch another screening of Wall-E.

Interaction Wall-E

How could we not pay homage to our newest and favest bot? Wall-E debuted today and although we couldn’t make the premiere, we did notice that there are already a truckload of toys and other tie-ins, like this Interaction Wall-E. The little guy’s eyes light up, he moves his head and arms, and has the original movie voice and sound effects. If that isn’t enough, when you talk to him, he responds and, if you are too busy, can communicate with Interaction Eve. At a size of 6.5 x 10.5 x 8.5-inches and a weight of 2.1 pounds, we found one on Amazon for $43.99.
