Rihanna: French People Are ‘Insane’

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Music, Rants, Paparazzi Photos,

RihannaRihanna has branded French people "f***ing insane" after nearly causing a riot in Paris.

The 24-year-old singer sparked "absolute chaos" when she posted the number of her Eurostar train and her arrival time at the Gare du Nord train station in the French capital city on Twitter, which resulted in hundreds of screaming fans turning up to see their idol after her trip from London.

Following the frenzy on Saturday, Rihanna launched a foul-mouthed tirade on the social networking site against her "out of control" fans. In a series of tweets, she wrote, "The French are f***ing insane!!! FYI, if u push me, you WILL get pushed the phuck back! Papz and crazies included!!!! I just had to fight my way out of a damn train station!!! SMH Y'all are outta control with this s**t in Paris!!! (sic)"

Rihanna was later blasted by security chiefs at Gare du Nord for her "utterly irresponsible" behavior. A security chief at the station is quoted by The Sun newspaper as saying, "It was absolute chaos, and all Rihanna's fault. What Rihanna did was utterly irresponsible. There was genuine fear among other people at the station."

No Doubt Makes the Album of Their Lives

No DoubtNo Doubt have made "the album of our lives." The "Don't Speak" hitmakers are confident their first record in eleven years, Push and Shove, is worth the wait and are "so proud" of the finished product.

"We would've loved for it to come out sooner. At the same time, we realized the people that care about us, that have given us our lives, are out there waiting for us, so what does it matter if it's a month here or a month there? As long as we make the record of our lives that we are so proud of. Otherwise, why put something out?" singer Gwen Stefani told Billboard.

The band credit their 2009 reunion tour with giving them the confidence and inspiration to return to the studio, as they realized their solid fan base was willing to stick by them. "We had writer's block up until that point. When we did that tour, it was the waking of the dead. Not only did we get our confidence back, on top of that it gave us the feeling of not needing to rush. All these amazing people were still coming out to see us, so we thought, 'Let's make the best record we can make now.' We wouldn't have this record if we didn't do that tour," bassist Tony Kanal added.

Clive Owen Hates Being Famous

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Movies, Features,

Clive OwenClive Owen hates being famous. The 47-year-old actor insists he didn't get into Hollywood for the fame and admits it was difficult to adjust to his newfound celebrity status when he first rose to notoriety in 1990 with ITV drama Chancer.

"I never wanted to be a movie star. And I didn't become an actor to become famous. I genuinely didn't. It was always theatre for me. Chancer was a baptism of fire. It's very weird to go from obscurity to suddenly being in newspapers. When somebody is hot, everyone wants a piece of it. If you explode onto the scene at a very young age, there are so many people pulling you in different directions. It takes time to recalibrate and see what's important."

The down-to-earth Closer star - who has worked with an impressive list of A-list leading ladies including Keira Knightley, Angelina Jolie and Nicole Kidman - maintains that he doesn't get star-struck by famous actors, only his sporting heroes: "I never think of meeting actors. I think of the times I've met footballers."

Smashing Pumpkins Frustrated by Fans

Smashing PumpkinsSmashing Pumpkins get frustrated when fans just want to hear their old songs.

Frontman Billy Corgan says despite all the work he puts into writing new material, fans often just want them to play the classics:

"We met this wall resistance like, 'It's nice you guys want to move forward, but can't you just play the old songs?' I've had five years of 'Can't you just play the old songs?' The whole time, all I've done is put my head down and try to make new music. You reach a point of literal frustration where you start going, 'Maybe this is never going to move forward? Maybe the vague 'they' out there will never accept The Smashing Pumpkins of this time?'"

However, concertgoers could be disappointed next time they're at a show because Billy says they plan to play their latest offering Oceania in its entirety with only few fan favorites thrown in:

Carrie Underwood Blasted For Gay Marriage Support

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Music,

Carrie UnderwoodCarrie Underwood faced an online backlash from fans after showing support for gay marriage.

The 29-year-old singer spoke out on her views of same-sex unions during a newspaper interview. She told The Associated Press about her questioning with another publication, "I was asked a difficult question in the last five minutes of an interview and I answered it the best way I knew how, and after that I do what I do and I love making music and I generally try to stay out of any kind of controversy."

The devout Christian singer told the newspaper that she believes marriage should be legal for all. "As a married person myself, I don't know what it's like to be told I can't marry somebody I love, and want to marry. I can't imagine how that must feel. I definitely think we should all have the right to love, and love publicly, the people that we want to love."

"The role-model word is really scary to me, because no matter what happens in your life, something you do, wear, say, sing, whatever - somebody somewhere is probably not going to like it too well. I just really try hard to do what I do and try to be nice to people and make great music and if people think they can look up to that, that's wonderful. If not, that's OK too," she continued.

Justin Bieber Upsets Fans at Airport

Justin BieberJustin Bieber complained he felt "disrespected" by fans while waiting for girlfriend Selena Gomez.

The "Never Say Never" hitmaker was waiting for the Disney star at Toronto airport on June 15 when some of his devotees approached asking for autographs, prompting the 18-year-old star to complain at their impatience.

In a video posted on website HollywoodLife.com, he tells waiting fans, "Do I not have any right as a human being to wait for my own girlfriend? Why do you have to be so impatient?"

After one fan points out they have waited all day, he responded, "I've been here waiting for my girlfriend. I'm still a human being, I have a right to wait for my own girlfriend. You're not being very respectful at all. I feel very disrespected with all you guys waiting. You say you're really my fans, but then why are you doing this. I've had a long day, I flew in. I don't have to be nicer about it. You guys are in my face."

Kate Winslet Accused of Snubbing Fans

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Movies,

Kate Winslet has been accused of snubbing her fans. The Reader beauty is said to have ignored people who waited out in the rain with the hope of meeting her when she was filming her latest movie, Labor Day in Shelburne Falls, Massachusetts.

Fan and local resident Shanna Swan told Star, "Kate was so rude, she never once acknowledged any of us, I was devastated. She gave dirty looks to people in my town who waited hours to see her. Upon her arrival everyone was yelling 'Kate we love you!' and you could hear everyone gasping with excitement when her black Cadillac pulled up."

However, Shanna claims the whole town was left upset when the Oscar winning actress wouldn't even look over to acknowledge them. "She always plays such warm people on the big screen, I thought she would be kind, so when she was mean, I was crushed. I watched Titanic 13 times when I was 12 years old, and Kate wouldn't even look up for a second to acknowledge we were all adoring her. Everyone in town was really hurt. After she took off, one lady right next to me specifically said, 'Wow. How rude was that?'" she added.

Usher Likes the Female ‘Benefits’ of Fame

UsherUsher admits being famous has "benefits" when it comes to women.

The "OMG" hitmaker - who is currently locked in a bitter custody battle with estranged wife Tameka Foster over their sons Usher Raymond V, four, and Naviyd Ely Raymond, three - is aware some people are only interested in his celebrity status, but he can't help but find them attractive.

"There's great benefit that comes with it [being famous]. We can't ignore this thing! Wherever I go I will have some attraction, I can't run away from who I am. But it's very hard, like, Man, there's lights everywhere. And some women I've been able to experience or relate to or date or merge with, they run from it."

The singer says one of the biggest things he has learned about women is that they like "confidence" and never wanted to be treated in the same way:
