The Draganflyer X6 is a deluxe adventure into spydom. Remotely operated, the mini-helicopter has 11 sensors and thousands of lines of code to self-stabilize while flying. It features a 6 rotor co-axial design with 3 counter rotating pairs at the ends of the arms and matched sets of counter-rotating rotor blades. The X6 has brushless motors and its blades are the only moving parts, so no gears will wear out. The company claims it can fly indoors easily as well as in winds of up to 18 mph. Casio Exilim EX-Z300 and Z250 Cameras

People with crows feet, get excited. Casio will soon be releasing its two new Exilim Zoom EX-Z300 and Z250 Cameras with a “makeup function” with Exilim Engine 3.0. It optimizes focus and exposure up to 12 levels, makes skin look smoother, and less blotchy or dull. It also softens shadows on the face with image processing tech and can smooth out wrinkles.

The EX-Z300 has a 1/2.3inch CCD image sensor, a 4x optical zoom, a pixel count of 10.1Mp, and should be available tomorrow. The Z250 has a count of 9.1Mp, a 1/2.5-inch CCD image sensor, a 4x optical zoom, and should launch within the next few weeks, depending on the chassis color.

SkyrosSiddharth Kambe designed the aerial camera Skyros because, after all, doesn’t everyone want a bird’s eye view of their neighborhood? Launch up to 120 feet and prescreen photos with its inbuilt sensor. The protective rings open and become a tripod for use as a regular cam. The prototype is made with a biopolymar that contains a pneumatic cylinder, carbon-dioxide canister, RF transmitter/receiver, microprocessor, battery and an LCD screen.

Touch Sight Camera for the Visually Impaired

What a unique idea. Designers Chueh Lee and team from Samsung, China came up with Touch Sight, a digital camera for the visually impaired. The cam records sound when the shutter button is pressed and can be used as a reference for managing the photos. The device has a lightweight Braille display sheet with a 3D image instead of an LCD. Once taken, the images can be down or uploaded for sharing. The team discovered that the forehead is the best place for this device to aim and stabilize. We can’t wait to see the results if the prototype becomes reality.
