Bill Murray Divorce Finalized
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Movies, Divorce, Legal Issues,
What could possibly be more surprising than hearing Bill Murray is a drug-addicted, abusive adulterer? Hearing that his divorce has already been finalized!
What was gearing up to be one of the nastiest settlements in Hollywood ended quietly and quickly two weeks ago - just one month after Jennifer Butler Murray filed the initial paperwork. Bill’s wife of nearly 11 years began divorce proceedings back in May citing “adultery, addiction to marijuana and alcohol, abusive behavior, sexual addictions and frequent abandonment” amongst her reasons. Jennifer also sought a restraining order at that time claiming the Groundhog Day star had been physically abusive to her.

Restraining Order Filed Against Bill Murray
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Movies, Divorce, Legal Issues, Rumors,
Every once in a while there’s a story you personally wish wasn’t true. This one would be mine.
On May 12, Jennifer Butler Murray, wife of comedian Bill Murray, filed for divorce in Charleston, South Carolina. And while most of us are used to hearing the overused phrase “irreconcilable differences,” what Jennifer had to say in those papers could put the Charlie Sheen-Denise Richards feud to shame.
According to the court documents, Jennifer blames “adultery, addiction to marijuana and alcohol, abusive behavior, physical abuse, sexual addictions and frequent abandonment” as the reasons for the end of her 10-year marriage.
Butler also felt it was necessary to file a restraining order against Bill due to his reportedly violent nature. Despite moving with their four children into a separate residence back in 2006, Murray allegedly came to his estranged wife’s home and physically harmed her. The Lost in Translation star supposedly “hit her in the face and then told her she was ‘lucky he didn’t kill her.’ ”

Should Kelly Osbourne Go Back to Rehab?
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Television, Drugs, Drunk, Photos, Oops Photos,
It’s no secret that Kelly Osbourne - and the Osbourne family, in general - has had problems with addiction. The reality star turned singer turned stage actress entered rehab back in 2004 after becoming addicted to painkillers. She then sought treatment again in 2006 after relapsing.
Earlier this year, Ozzy and Sharon’s daughter addressed her addictive personality with Fabulous magazine:
“Addiction is a gene. I was born an addict and I’ll always be an addict, but I’ve learnt to live with it. There are different levels of addiction, whether it be drugs, spending money, overeating, or painting your nails 17 times a day. It’s an addictive gene and you have it the rest of your life.”

‘Celebrity Rehab’: Just Another Reality Show?
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Prime Time, Reality, Cable, Editorial,
The Internet community, the media and addiction professionals have spoken out against VH1’s Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew. Criticisms call the show “exploitive,” and say it’s really just another TV show with people playing to that fact. Faces and Voices of Recovery, a group for recovering addicts, even began a letter-writing campaign to the cable channel to complain about the show. And normally, honestly, I wouldn’t even care. But I have seen this particular reality show, and I can tell you in all seriousness it’s not like anything else on TV.
Leading man Dr. Drew Pinky, whose fatherly face and forty-nine-year-old fit form make him look more like star material than your average addiction expert, obviously doesn’t need VH1 to further his own career or find a spotlight. Pinsky has enjoyed the spotlight for two and a half decades, landing every type of gig from radio to movies. A genuine motive to help is what propels him to do the show, and while the same may not be said of all the recovering addicts on the show (but who can really tell?), Celebrity Rehab isn’t just another Surreal Life with a different package.

Lindsay Lohan: Anti-Smoking Pinup Girl?
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Movies, Rumors,
Still trudging along on the path to a reformed, healthy lifestyle, Lindsay Lohan is working on kicking yet another addiction: her cigs. The paparazzi have snapped plenty of pics of Lohan trolling around with Ariva (an anti-smoking product), but thus far the star has received no compensation for this endorsement. All that might be about to change.
According to gossip, Lindsay is currently in talks with the manufacturer to fully endorse the product. One source close to Lohan says she’s in New York this week just for these discussions (and her late-night vodka sessions are apparently unrelated).

Five Best Moments from ‘Celebrity Rehab With Dr. Drew’
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Prime Time, Reality, Cable, Editorial, Gossip,
Last Thursday night, I was fortunate enough to stumble upon my latest reality obsession. Surprisingly, it lacked a competition element and it, thankfully, didn’t compete with American Idol. (Though it does have a connection to it). My current must see fave? Celebrity Rehab With Dr. Drew.
Given my predilection for Train Wreck television, the series immediately had one thing going for it. But I like to think my voyeuristic eye is drawn toward things with a bit more substance, and this show filled that role quite nicely. Rehab combines the grittiness of A&E’s fabulous Intervention, the B-list comedy of VH1’s Surreal Life, the hopefulness of NBC’s The Biggest Loser and the frank, yet informative, talk usually seen from Oprah’s Dr. Oz. The nice whole package was then topped off with the appealing and non-judgmental presence of Dr. Drew Pinsky.
