We found this to be a interesting alternative to the endless toys for the iPod. Bird-Electron has a EZ 17-B Recycling Speaker for 1st and 2nd gen. nanos and 2nd and 3rd gen. shuffles. The dimensions of the speaker is the same as the box that your player came in. Simply plug and play, with no power source needed. You can also customize it by using another small container. At a size of 53 x 103 x D2 mm, it weighs only 35 g and carries a price of $39.95.

Rolly Challenges Miuro to a Dance-a-Thon

It’s a sad state of affairs when a company creates a commercial with a human competing for a top dance spot with a robotic device. Remember Miuro? Sony has devised its own dancing bot to be released in the States sometime this spring. Palm-size, Rolly uses the reflection of the floor to create an acoustical image, with speakers at 180º angles. Considering how identically the two bots operate, it might be a better alternative to pit them against each other.

Seventy 7’s Felip Ivanovski’s baby is his Versus Scoreboard. A former professional phys. ed. instructor, he thought it would be nice to have a counter made of more than just wood. The device features 2 10W speakers, a mic, a countdown timer, buzzer, period tracker, and can be customized with a faceplate of the sponsor’s name. Its LED settings will work both indoors and out, and its RF remote can apparently work through walls. We dig that it can jeer or applaud and can be taught team specific team chants. Peavey Electronics arrived at the CES wih their AG RiffMaster Pro “Guitaraoke” System for Playstation 2. Its name pretty much tells it all. With a speaker system included, it was designed to “improve the experience of guitar-based music videogame tournaments in bars and nightclubs.” Honest. We wouldn’t just make that stuff up. The device comes with a fully functional PA System and a gaming console sits on top. Also included are mic and two controllers. If you don’t want to be too ostentatious and stay home, a smaller system is available. Seventeen different designs are there for you to choose from with a Limited Edition price of $399.99.

Although it has been out for awhile, this one of Sababa’s first public appearances to show off their iNo music trivia game. Compatible with all iPods except iPod shuffle and the 3rd generation nano, plop one in the interactive trivia game, and identify the tune, album, or artist. There are four wireless remotes to end the music and lock out the other players. The iNo comes with 50 action cards, so we are assuming that it just doesn’t play your tunes. That would be just wrong. The game requires 6 AA batteries (not included) at the post-holiday Target price of $35.99.
