Eminem announces tour with Rihanna

Rihanna can't wait to go on tour with Eminem.

The rapper announced he is embarking on a three-city US tour with the 26-year-old singer, whom he has collaborated with three times in the past, on "The Monster" and on two versions of "Love the Way You Lie," this summer. "There are some shows coming up with Rihanna. It's a three-city tour: New York, Los Angeles and Detroit coming in August. The Monster Tour," the 41-year-old star said on Friday.

Nicki Minaj Brings New York to Standstill

Nicki Minaj brought Times Square in New York to a standstill this weekend. The "Super Bass" rapper's performance saw 30,000 people descend on the landmark - one of the world's busiest pedestrian intersections - on Friday night, stopping all traffic as she launched the new Nokia Lumia 900 smartphone in the US.

The performance also featured one of the world's largest LED displays as Nokia took over all of the hundreds of screens in the square. Fans heard an exclusive remix of Nicki's track "Starships" by DJ Doorly and were filmed to be included in the Nokia music video for the track.

M.I.A. to Give Free Concert in New York

M.I.A.New York-area residents will be the recipients of a free show next month—courtesy of

The “Paper Planes” performer will be footing the bill for the event to be held at the Brooklyn Bowl.

Attendance for the concert will be on a first-come, first-serve basis. Only those 18 and over will be allowed entry.

The show will be held on October 6.

VIDEO: Record Crowd Watches Lady Gaga in Rockefeller Center

An estimated 20,000 people - a record-sized crowd for the Today show - watched sing live from New York’s Rockefeller Center morning.

Although the patient “Little Monsters” - some waiting as long as 33 hours - had to endure some rain, Gaga’s performance made their efforts worthwhile. The 24-year-old’s set included a mashup of “Someone to Watch Over Me/Bad Romance,” “You and I” (a new tune she recently performed for Elton John), “Alejandro” and “Teeth.”

Mix Tape: NYC Says No to Jay-Z, Blige Says Yes to Nina Simone

Jay-Z-A surprise Jay-Z performance outside David Letterman’s studio will not happen on Monday. A permit was not granted for the concert by New York City officials.

-A future reunion for Jay-Z’s wife (Beyonce) and the other Destiny’s Child ladies will also not happen. Ex-manager Matthew Knowles squashed all rumors about a performance or an album.

-According to one person “A Day in the Life” was worth $1.2 million. That’s how much handwritten lyrics to the John Lennon-penned song were sold for this week.

-Please don’t let me be misunderstood. Mary J. Blige will be playing Nina Simone in a movie about the singer’s life. Shooting on Nina will start this fall.

-Sophie B. Hawkins (remember her?) is donating all proceeds from her song “The Land, the Sea and the Sky” to help clean-up efforts in the Gulf area. The song is available on iTunes.
