Gavin RossdaleGavin Rossdale says "nobody cared" about his solo career.

The Bush frontman formed new band Institute after the group originally split in 2002, and after that failed made a solo album, 2008's Wanderlust, but now admits it was a mistake.

"There were no fireworks. It was almost like the air being sucked out of a building. There was a side-project [Institute], and then a solo career, by default - that was almost a douche-bag route; who cares about singers making solo records? I needed to be in Bush again," Gavin told Classic Rock magazine, referring to Bush's break-up.

Bush had big hits with their albums Sixteen Stone, Razorblade Suitcase and The Science of Things, but split after guitarist Nigel Pulsford left and sales declined.

Billy Corgan and Chris Cornell

Billy Corgan claims Soundgarden only reunited for money. The Smashing Pumpkins singer and guitarist believes the fellow grunge legends only got back together in 2010 for financial gain.

"There are those bands that are essentially coming back only to make money. Playing their old albums, and maybe somewhere in the back of their minds they're thinking there might be a future. When Soundgarden came back and they just played their old songs, great. I was a fan of Soundgarden, but call it for what it is. They're just out there to have one more round at the till; same with Pavement and these other bands."
